    What is baffling about it?

We're having a conversation about the beer they make, are we not? Not sure what's "baffling" about my post.

Opinion that there is extreme homerism in ratings in conjunction with opinion that beers are not very good but leaning towards making the drive anyway. Beer is goofy stuff. If that was your opinion about say a restaurant, I doubt there would be any chance of driving whatever distance and time required to go to said restaurant.

A commentary on beer not poster. Needed to add that.

I'm clearly very torn on whether I should go. Really like the brewery. Haven't been crazy about the beers so far. Like what they're doing. Want to support them. It's pretty simple really. Has nothing to do with chasing bottles. That's not really my style. The in laws have a house very close I could stay at. Would make a day or two out of it. We'll see.

I understand, i am skeptical though of anyone's first try at Barrel Aging of stouts to be honest. Too many fails but hoping for the best.

I plan on getting there a little before opening and have a Kane Morning Bell if anybody wants to do an IP trade.

Not really - there's probably 10 similar restaurants in the county - prices, quality, atmosphere etc. There just aren't that many quality breweries in driving distance so when a decent one comes up people are willing to trek to check it out.

Small line at around 10:20, maybe 15 people. Don't drive crazy if you are en route.

So what did you think of Where the Shadows Lie? I thought it was incredible. Especially for a first try batch...

Good to hear. Too early in the morning for me to be drinking BA stouts unless I am tailgating outside of Beaver Stadium. Even then that might be too early.

Made it after all…thoroughly impressed Twyla: cinnamon, tart fruit, lemon/citrus – unreal body/feel considering the abv

Was able to chat and sample with some of the fellas there (Pentagram): Real chill vibe, cool environment, knowledgeable group of brewers. Granted, I haven’t cracked Silence yet, but was able to grab a couple pours and snag some growlers.

    Cheers -

Made my first trip to the brewery yesterday. A friend tipped me off to the bottle release so I figured it was a perfect time to check out the Mountains IPA. Definitely worth the trip. Drove from about an hour away and scooped a few bottles yesterday. Really enjoyed I Want to See Mountains as well as Twyla and the New Brighton Coffee Stout. Have go to see Mountains may be one of the best hoppy brews produced in the state. Anyone else think the BA Where The Shadows Lie was super hot? Jim Beam barrels must have been freshly emptied and promptly filled because that beer was one of the most distinctly boozy Ive ever had.
Anyway, would love to try Marigolden, if anyone in the SJ/Philly area has one to share or trade. Threw up a FT post in Mid Atlantic IP if anyone is interested.

I got there way too early, like 9:30 not knowing what to expect and coming from about 2 hours away. I haven't popped a bottle yet, I will tonight but they had some great offerings. I want to see Mountains and Twyla were outstanding. I thought Where the Shadow lie was good but was lacking a bit, I'm sure they will refine it a bit and balance it out a little more in the future or for future BA projects. I'm looking forward to checking this place out again anytime I head to South Jersey.

Has anyone cracked open a bottle of Silience yet? If so, thoughts?

Looks like Jonsreality might be giving us an opinion hopefully soon.

Cracked one open last night, and well, it gushed all over the place. I think after it calmed down and all there was about 1/4 of the bottle left. So I can't give you and honest opinion but maybe just a word of caution. Open it near a sink and have a glass ready. From what I got, there was a ton of oak but obviously it wasn't consumed the way it was intended.

To be fair to Tuckahoe reached out to me and apologized for the mishap, apparently they held a few cases back for this very problem and tried to catch them in their QC process. I guess I just got unlucky and a bad bottle slipped through. I do have another bottle hopefully it doesn't have the same issue but who knows.

I've had some Marigoldens that gushed, but the ones that gushed were extra delcious for some reason. Extra turbid so maybe more fruit. Still have a few and hoping for another gusher.
