Heading there for a show tomorrow night. First time there and I could have sworn I heard at one time they had a decent beer selection. Is this still the case and any recommendations for a good place to hit for beer in the immediate area? I used to be around there once a week for work but its been about four years and there wasnt much then. Just wondering if anything has popped up since. Thanks
Ngon Vietnamese Bistro is on University and Dale. All Mn beer and pretty outstanding food. Otherwise Pizza Luce isn't too far from there. They have a decent beer selection. Oh, Groveland Tap, awesome beer selection there. Happy Gnome and Muddy Pig are reasonably close as well. Honestly though, the Turf Club will have some something on tap you will find acceptable.
Tap selection at the Turf has become very good in the past couple of years, and I'd say it's the best selection between Stub and Herb's and any of the other places suggested so far. Maybe the Groveland if you like swingin' south and west a little? Edit: Or even Grumpy's in Roseville?
Or even Pour Decisions in Roseville. Great little brewery/taproom. About 40 seconds from Grumpys as the crow flies and maybe 15 minutes up Snelling from the Turf. Well, not exactly on Snelling, but pretty close. Can't be more than 15 min from Snelling and Uni can it? Yeah, I vote Pour Decisions or Ngon's. That is if you were wanting to hit another place besides the Turf.
