Turned off by Simcoe/Citra hops

Simcoe = cat pee (ammonia?)
Summit = onoins/garlic (sulfur?)
Citra = delicious tropical citrus

IMHO, YMMV, ETC ...

 

Pretty much sums it up.

 

That's a shame. Those are two of my favorite hops. Add mosaic and galaxy to that mix.

 

Sometimes the all Citra beers don't do it for me, but the ones who nail it always bring me back and change my mind. Like Zombie Dust and PseudoSue. Amazing!

 

Citra for me has just become its own flavor. I don't necessarily get these "tropical flavors" anymore, just sort of a sweet and general fruity taste. People will say it tastes like mango, pineapple, guava, etc. but I think they're just kinda reaching for comparisons. That said, Citra is much better combined with other hops, and I'll say the same about Mosaic.
