Blend 01 flew under the radar cos u know, St Archer ain't cool or whatever.

With the new release having coconut, the cats gonna jump out the bag.

So what's the story behind this being a Coronado label and now a St Archer label?

Vanilla bean stout was great and I loved the bottles of the blend. Looking forward to trying the coconut.

I wasn't a fan of No. 01 at all. I was getting a weird bitterness out of it that I couldn't get past.

I wasn't a fan of tusk and grain no.1 either, I forget the exact reason but there was some kind of off note to the taste. Smells like a standard barrel aged stout.

Agree that it was thin. Also agree that time wouldn't make this beer better as the flavors are very subdued/subtle already. Overall it wasn't bad for the price.

Looking forward to the coconut release.

Crazy, I didn't see it as thin and I thought it was great. One of the better local barrel aged offerings IMO.

Will the next blend see distro?

Talking with one of the brewers, yes it will see distro but limited just based on the yield.

We'll have both blends on tap at Iron Pig Alehouse this Friday night. I'll be tapping both kegs at 6pm. Personally, I thought Blend 01 was fantastic and I'm really looking forward to Blend02.
    Cheers!

Haha! You know, I've had this avatar of a hairless mole-rat for over 5 years and you're the first person to mention how creep and disgusting it is. If you ever find yourself at Iron Pig Alehouse, your first beer is on me. Cheers!

Are there other blends slated for release? The first bottles were a blended beer consisting of stout, porter and barleywine. The Vanilla Tusk and Grain I had on tap was not a blend, it was an Imperial stout with Vanilla beans. As far as I know the upcoming coconut is also not a blend, its an Imperial Stout with coconut from what Ive heard.

My understanding is that the upcoming coconut stout is a blend of Imp Stout and Imp Porter. I've also heard that they plan to do a component blend annually, so we can see Barrel Blend Two at the end of the year.

I ended up buying a case at the brewery, but I'm told that they will (or already have) hit Trader Joe's for a couple bucks cheaper per bottle.
