How has this fest been in the past? Looks like this will be their third year and their site makes the claim that it is the states largest beer fest: http://www.canterburypark.com/LiveRacing/Promotions/TwinCitiesBeerFest/tabid/485/Default.aspx But that measurement could just mean square footage and mean nothing about selection. The reason that I ask is because Living Social is offering half priced tickets right now, but there is no brewery list available yet on their site.
I thought it was good. It was at the parking lot by the MOA last year. Their weren't any big limited release/special beers, but they had plenty of variety. It wasn't overcrowded, and had plenty of port-a-pissers.
I won tickets to this at the Twin Cities Beer Fest that was downtown a few weeks ago. Seems weird that they haven't listed the participating breweries yet, considering the event is a month away. I imagine it will be pretty similar though to the one downtown, which could have used more breweries.
Does anyone else have anything to comment? There seems to a strange absence of any opinion on the web. It's a few weeks away and they've yet to list any breweries or food trucks and it appears most of the local breweries already have plans that day. Is this just another $25 InBev party?
Typically a groupon beer festival is not going to have anything special. I went to their festival last year on a groupon at the MOA parking lot. Not knowing what it was going to be, I got the VIP tickets for special cask booths. Lets just say the special cask beers were Flying Dog Raging Bitch and Summit Saga. It is pretty much all typical beer at liquor stores, there was even PBR, Miller and etc.

According to the OP there's a LivingSocial deal, so now it's a $17.50 InBev party/sausage fest, YEEHAH!
$25 is the half off, or am I missing something? :-) I have some family going so I'm debating whether it's worth $50 for the girlfriend and me to go.
This is the part I saw to get that $17.50: That's really not too bad I suppose, and especially if you* are new to such events. *Or have friends and family who are.
For anyone considering going here is what I believe is the final list of breweries. Had to ask them on facebook to get it. Terribly run event as far preparation for it. 612 Brew Abita Brewing American Sky Beer Amigos Beer August Schell Brewing Co Badger Hill Brewing Co Bank Beer Co Blue Moon Brau Brother Brewing Co Brainerd Lakes Beer Budweiser California Cider Co Capital Brewery Central Waters Crown Beverage Draftmark Finnegans Flat Earth Brewing Co Goose Island Grand Teton Brewing Heineken Hop City Brewing Indeed Brewing Kona Brewing Lagunitas Brewing Co Leech Lake Brewing Co Lucid Brewing Mankato Brewery Mike’s Hard Lemonade Moosehead New Belguim Odell Brewing Co St. Killian Shock Top Sierra Nevada Stagecoach Brewing Stella Artois Summit Brewing Co Tallgrass Brewing Co Tonka Beer Company Traveler Beer Co Vermont Hard Cider Co Widmer
