Twin Cities Bottle Hunt - 2016 Edition

Randomly picked up a bottle of KBS at Falls Liquors (2-3 left, limit 1) around 12:30 today. Looks like this was left over from their KBS release last night at 5. Although I agree that there are probably some better barrel aged coffee stouts available at this point in history - I would have to say that KBS is a pretty solid offering at the equivalent price of $12/bomber ($6/12oz) and it sure is a nice change of pace to be able to pick up a bottle at my leisure > 12 hours after the release.

 

Dinkytown literally just got KBS in. 2 bottle limit at $5.99 a bottle.

 

KBS at Robbinsdale/RC Liquors, limit 2 bottles. little more than a case left.

 

Just picked up a 4 pack of KBS at Lowry Hill Liquors for $24.99. Not sure how much they have left but the woman who checked me out seemed pretty relaxed about the whole situation.

 

The KBS craze..Went to pickup my KBS today, Saw a lady cuss out the clerk because she wasn't on the waiting list. Also got mines for 5.99

 

If anyone is looking for Apricot Vista, I saw some late last night at MGM Calhoun on the shelf and in the cooler. There were some bottles of 2016 Uncle Jacob's too.

Roseville Total Wine had some a few days ago.

 

France 44 has 6-8 bottles of Noa Pecan Mud from Omnipollo. If you were a fan of Yellow Belly, you'll love this beer. Can't recommend it enough, worth the $10.

KBS is either not a rare truck-chasing-required beer or I've been just lucky. I've only left work to try to get a beer twice, and that was earlier this year. After striking out both times, I reverted to my "sensible" behavior of not chasing beers.

I was able to buy a total of 5 bottles of KBS merely by stopping by my regular liquor stores, intending to buy other things, and just asking.

I haven't tried it yet. I want to have time to both enjoy it and to try to be objective about it.

The last was F44 last evening. They still had some (no idea how much... it was in the back somewhere), but you have to ask the guy who works the walk-in cooler. (The cashier seemed surprised they still had any.)

 

I think that for many, chasing KBS was not worth the exercise it had become the last few years. True for me at least.

Nice to see that it's possibly easier to get this year.

 

Haven't chased KBS for 3 years now. Normally just trade for a couple 4 packs and save a lot of damn time and energy!
