Twin Cities Bottle Hunt - 2016 Edition

Has this year's expedition hit the cities yet?

Found a single 4 pack of the BBQuad near me, glad they only had one that I could buy. I didn't think it was that great.

 

Did you enjoy the rest of the Brewers Reserve series? I haven't picked up any quad yet but I've really stout, scotch ale and barelywine.

 

I thought is was very good, but not as fine as the barleywine & stout. The bourbon is subtle to the point of non-existence until the beer warms for about a half-hour.

 

I loved all the others

 

CW BA Cherry Stout has never been available in MN for example.

 

Ummmm...yes? I'm not sure what your point is. And WI can keep all the BA Cherry Stout as far as I'm concerned.

 

I was just reiterating your point that we get anywhere from zero limits on some to not even distributed here and anywhere in between of their BA beers. Seems to change from year to year too. I've seen cases of BA Scottish Ale sitting on store floors lately. Last year I don't think I could find it a week or two after it was released.

... and I happen to really like the BA Cherry Stout.

 

Went for central Waters and left with one of my favorite 750's from last year. Way better value in the 12oz bottles!

 

I'd be interested to hear what you think of this year's batch. Boulevard BBQ for me has veered from sublime bourbon quad greatness to tart cherry blech, so if it's closer to the former, I will need to get out & get me some.

Do you prefer Blvd BBQ to CW's then?

 

Well I'd love to compare.. haven't seen CW on the shelf yet at the TW's I've been to this week.

 

The method to their madness may have changed according to their description... comparing a bottle i have from last year to this years 4 pack or I'm just interrupting it differently.

 

I picked up a 4-pack of the CW BBQ, even though Belgians are not generally my style. I don't know that I want to double down on a 4-pack of the Boulevard, so if there's anybody South Metro who wants to swap a bottle or two of the Boulevard for the CW, let me know. Maybe we could meet at Bald Man or some other hip joint.

Anyone have info on Michigan Maple Jesus distro? Heard it's mostly going to New York but I'm hoping we see a bit of it.

 

Happy Friday fellas. Without having the 2015 open to compare... this is definitely like the boozy bourbon beer I recall but not wowing in any fashion for me on first couple sips.
