I love when brewers stretch styles beyond recognition. I do not love when I can't tell what that style started out to be, what color it might be, or when I have to worry if the writer of the description is or was having a stroke.

I figure it'll be green or something.

They're going to have it on tap too during the release from what I read. I'm very curious but will definitely try it before buying a bottle or two. Maybe it will be somewhat similar to a Black Barleywine like Steel Toe's Before the Dawn? I'm not comparing Modist to the Bruery, but the Bruery does this sort of blending of styles thing very well with their Melange series.

Modist's last few releases have been quite tasty too. Their NE style IPA: Deviation 002, is very good and German Fat Cap is like a better version of Surly Fest.

Ok that would make sense except where the heck does the imperial red ale come into play?

Haha yea I have no idea. Maybe it give it some hoppy character? Or maybe they're just playing games with us by not defining a clear style! That's kind of what they're known for I believe.

If nothing else, Modist has certainly created a lot of discussion and awareness about this beer (intentional or not)!

This is very true... genius marketing - after all this discussion I now kinda want to try it just to figure out what the heck it is.

Not sure why, but I didn't actually grab a bottle. I should probably do that tonight.

I think TW had abrasive, I'd check Princeton's too. Bill from Princeton's tweeted ST about sticker fight distro and they said TBD.

Looks like Sisyphus is starting to get in on this local distro game. F44 just posted they have a sisyphus IPA. Stoked on that.

Sisyphus should come in tomorrow (Friday). Forgot to say that in the new beer list.

Sisyphus has been selling crowlers in liquors stores for over a year. Or is it cans?

I've never seen them, and the beer is called "the 1st beer we've distributed" so I don't know if you're thinking of something else.

They released crowlers in a few liquor stores about a year ago. I think two of them were Isaac The Fax Man and The First Beer We Named.

No. Like 6 beers almost a year ago. But, by all means, believe whatever marketing hype you want....
