Twin Cities Bottle Hunt - 2016 Edition

Saw some rye barrel aged pentagram at Fridley Liquors on Monday. Had at least a dozen bottles left.

 

What're the chances there's any King Sue left anywhere? I get into Minneapolis on Friday afternoon.

 

Seem unlikely, but that's what my magic 8 ball is telling me.

 

Any chance of this still be around today (King Sue) somewhere in the NNW metro?

 

Save your $12, not worth it IMHO.

Hey BA's, thought I'd share my bottle hunting story from today with y'all... I'm in NYC for work and had the morning off so I checked out a few places to bring some beer home. I first went to Whole Foods and they had 10 cases of Bourbon County just sitting on the floor with no limits, I asked the guy if they got a second shipment and he said no, they just got a large amount originally and he told me "we usually sell a few bottles per day." Then I went to another beer store and they had Bell's Black Note and the guy said he got it in last week!

Both of these beers sold out in the Twin Cities in a matter of hours yet BCBS lasts a month and Black Note sits around for a week or more...

 

HE HATE ME

 

When I lived in New York (2012-2015) you could find BCBS on shelves almost year round. NYC gets tons of it.

 

Yea I have heard BCBS turds on shelves out there, which is insane...also heard they got a majority of the Maple Jesus in NY as well....still trying to hunt one of those down!!

Only bought 1 BCBS and 1 Black Note. Was hoping to find some Grimm IPA's but no luck

 

Recently in the SF bay area I saw many Bourbon County shelf turds, many of them from last year's vintage. I think in MN we get less supply and also have more demand than most other markets.

 

Where? Serious.

 

Santa Clarita Liquors still has cases of 2015. No 2016. Word of warning though as I have gotten a couple 2015 bottles from them with good dates and they still taste a little off. Maybe storing them in warm temps with some afternoon sun is a bad idea?

 

Can't recall all the store names but try Bevmo in Berkeley and Monument wine and spirits in Concord.

 

Anyone know/heard rumors on when we'll start seeing Abyss?

 

Hopefully not the infected ones...aka 2015 coffee,2015 barleywine and a fair amount of 2015 regular
