The bottle of DDH 'Sue I picked up at F44 is dated 5/11.
I am glad to report back after opening my bottle, it is good. Reminds me a lot of Central Waters BBW. A little stronger with the bourbon and vanilla, but overall I think it tastes great despite the homer bias in me. Not too hot and the hops are toned down. The barrel tastes just like one from the Kentucky legends. I would buy another bottle FWIW.
There was a single bottle of 2015 Abyss on the shelf at Whole Foods downtown this afternoon.
Abyss Variants at Tonka Bottle Shop. I think they're on "sale" too. Still spendy, but if anyone's looking, there you go
Is Junkyard PB Bandit currently on any shelves of twin cities liquor stores?
Thomas Liquors had it Friday night, but they kept it in the back. I do not know if it lasted through the weekend.
Shorewood Liquor has Mexican Cake and DDH Sue 5/18, some Cherry Dust, and LTD Nightfalls.
Actual Mexican Cake or Imperial Mexican Biscotti Cake Break?
From their tweet, just Imperial Mexican Biscotti Cake Break.
Yeah, I was wondering how South Carolina's Westbrook Mexican Cake made it to MN...Good catch!
Although my son, living in Charleston, picked up a Cake & a Coffee Cake for me, so I have that to look forward to
DDH Sue and X-hops Teal at TW Maple Grove - be careful not to take it from the opened box behind the counter though. Got harassed for "taking their beer" without permission despite no one being around to ask for a solid 10 minutes, and bottles already missing from the case.
I actually felt like I'd done something wrong!
They also have birthday bomb too.
is that Schell's Banana whatever in the NW metro area anywhere? I have not seen it in Princetons, Premier or G-Wills MG. Although I last looked late last week at these locations.
Coco Jesus at France44 today, limit 1
Just saw it in the cooler today at the Lunds and Byerly's in Arbor Lakes...
I don't know. Walking behind the counter of any store is a no no to me. If it is on the general floor space, everything is fair game.
Stopped by Stinson today - they have Drekker cans in the cooler. Apparently this is their first week of distro here. Stinson had coconut IPA and several other things. Someone buy some and fill me in on how they are, please!
I spent all of my moneys on Stone Drink By!
Had both their coconut and wheeze juice they both are decent. Wheeze is way overpriced rather drink a fulton hopstar for half the price. I thought those new enjoy by cans were horrible.
Good to know! If it's coconut, I'll drink it. Or eat it. I'd forgotten, but apparently Drekker was at the Minnesota Craft Beer fest this year and I had a couple of their beers (Wheez and Pushing Daisies). Zero recollection, so I guess they didn't make an impression? I'd like to swing by there this summer - possibly before/after Rare Beer Picnic, if I go. Anyone heard if any of the breweries are bringing something amazing?
I really liked the Enjoy by 7/4 cans - had two last night, failed to notice they were 9ish percent before I began... whoops.
Alternatively, if no one is at the service desk you can just go up to 1 of the cashiers and tell them you want a bottle of "X" and it is behind the service counter. They will go grab one for you.
6/12 blissful at F44
White chocolate too
For the record, this was at the smaller tasting counter by the coolers, not by the registers. Commonly there is no one at this counter, and in multiple instances, marked cases are sitting near it with product available. I'm not saying I did the right thing, I'm just saying that the situation could have been handled differently by the gal that rudely helped me, rather than continuing to belittle with complete disregard for customer service.
Confirmed. That area is like being lost at a big box electronic store in the automobile section when shopping for cameras.
Hopstar cans around anywhere? Minny area.
Tell my wife I love her
Edina liquor on York had them a day or 2 ago.
Wild Mind is doing their first crowler release tomorrow at 4. It's their Triple IPA aged on pineapple. They don't list a price, but there are no limits.
CREW, ASSEMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEE!! *blows conch horn*
An IPA that I've never had before? I'll take 40 of those please.
Hopsmack at Zipps
Yes Hopsmack is hitting your favorite Packy, right now with BO 06/14, < 2wks and drinking nicely.
Also another batch of just canned Blissful 06/26? should be arriving today/this week.
Any word on when the next Hooey canning run will happen?
7/6 is the next canning run.
Per twitter they hope to have in stores by the weekend 07/08.
Anyone see any of these bottles/cans on the shelves around town (perferably around the NW metro) but they've been on my list as coming out in June and I'd love to try them:
New Holland - Black Tulip (tripel)
Flat Earth - Hep Cat (blonde)
New Holland Dragons Milk - Mexican Spice Cake (BA stout)
Funkwerks - Pineapple Provincial (sour)
21st Amendment - Watermelon Funk (sour)
Evil Twin - A is for Apricot (gose)
Anchor - Blood Orange Blonde (blonde)
North Coast Brewing Co - Passionfruit Peach (berliner weiss)
Fulton - 72 Stretch (gose)
Some just released, some might not have, just wondering if there's been any sightings of these as they are on my radar...
Looking for Hopsmack in the north metro if anyone has seen it.
So, I'm down in Iowa, and there is tons of Hopsmack and teal xhops, just sitting on the shelves. I'm wondering, should I bring extras home on Friday?
Only if they are for the cabin.
France 44 has A is for Apricot as of this past weekend.
