Big Top - Midway still had all of this on Sunday afternoon.
Should have worked from home today...
I missed the last bottle by 30 seconds. They still have 2 bottles of Stagg Jr.
Wish they would wait till after 5 to post that stuff! Or maybe I should quit my day job....
Here we go again
Bent Paddle Barrel Aged Double Shot Double Black still available at Minnehaha Lake as of last night for anyone looking. Oh, and they had DDH PseudoSue for $6.99 a bottle. I think I grabbed their last King
Who the hell wouldn't be excited for this: http://mapleislandbrewing.com/barrel-aged-stout/
Anybody had this? Not going to run out & buy one, but I was startled to notice I've never had a single beer from this brewery.
I envy you.
Al's review of Maple Island is hilarious, and highly informative.
Ha! Good stuff. I hadn't seen that write-up. I wish I had Al's time for beer & his evident tolerance to drink 16 hours a day, give or take 8 hours.
That review was spot on. In defense of the sink setup, though, it actually lets you wash your hands after touching the bathroom door, so the super germphobic don't have to use a paper towel on the handle.
I haven't been to Maple Island, but I gotta say, at least they can take the criticism and seem to want to improve from what I've read. Unlike the disaster that happened with Dystopian State.

What's up with Heritage's response on that tweet?!? I hope it's an inside joke.
Guys, Bill and I have been friends for years, anyone that is actually part of this conversation knows it was a joke.
With it being on social media and for everyone to see though, it could be perceived differently by those of us not in the know.
Thank you for clarifying though, I was worried it was going to escalate into a thunderdome situation. Two craft beer store owners enter, one crafter beer store owner leaves...
Lots of excited individuals on here

2018 Predictions from Bennett at France 44:
We all know if a Thunderdome situation were to happen, it would resemble the scene in Return of the Jedi where the Rancor eats Jubnuk before Luke deafats it. I, of course would not be the Rancor or Luke.
Sooooo you're sayin I'm Luke? Right?!?!
Just cracked a 15 ba pt5 infected mess if any are sitting on some

Does anyone know the release date of this year's Barrel Aged Darkness?
Check the NEWS section on Surly's website for BEER RELEASE postings. In 2017, Surly posted the release date information in early February, which gave about one week advance notice.
You are everywhere guy
On their Instagram they showed a pic of them putting Darkness in barrels on Dec 4th.
So three month's in barrels = early February bottling. Late February release?
They sent an email for waxing bottles starting Jan 15th.
Bummer. That's not much time in barrels.
A longer time in barrels doesn’t necessarily mean more BA taste. Avery often uses barrels only a few months for example.
How long were the '15 in barrels? Had the perfect amount of barrel. '16 was much lighter and it sounded like it was in the barrels much less than '15. Granted the barrels where from different sources, but the notes itself were not as intense. Sounds like this one is spending about the same amount of time as '16.
I read or was told at surly that it was only in for 3 months. I posted it last year when everyone was bitching that 16 was “only” aged 3 months and was nothing in comparison - some agreed w my post, but most just continued to bitch. No one showed any evidence that 15 was aged longer, but who really knows. You’d think they’d keep it the same after the success they had the first go around.
It's more about how many uses the barrel has had. I think '15 was all first use barrels.
