I originally thought Narwhal would age wonderfully, but it doesn't hold up like expo does. I have so many bottles going back to b1 that I am trying to drink through. With expo, I feel like I never have to worry about that beer going bad. But $12/4pk fresh is a great deal on that IS.

Please correct this post. It's clear from this thread that no one is buying bombers of Darkness. This will only confuse the masses.

Insane prices for steel toe before the dawn. $30/bottle. $45 for variant bottles. I was excited for this one but have to pass at those prices. Bottle release 11/17 for those interested.

Really disappointed at those Before the Dawn prices. Didn’t the last batch last for weeks at the brewery at $20?

These ones are more limited tho! I think TG has been doing consulting work in St Louis Park MN.

Wow. Was looking forward to these. Hard pass.

But you can understand it from a business perspective. They'll sell them eventually at that price. I just hope Lunker, one of the best aging barleywines on the planet, doesn't see a price hike too.

Seriously, I’m kind of in shock over those prices. Never would have thought that from them.

Last year I picked up before the dawn for $20/bottle 3 months after the release!

Allow me to also jump on the surprise/disappointment bandwagon over the $30 price point for BTD. No thanks at that price. If Lunker clocks in at that price, it will be the first time I have ever passed on it, going back to the first release several years ago.

It's rather ironic too, not sure the steel toe wearing blue collar folks can spend $45 on a bottle of beer.

30 bucks? Really?! Not buying bottles of Darkness this year and certainly won’t be going for BTD.

No to $30 bottles of beer, let alone $100 ones. What the hell is going on with some of these releases?

There are just so many good-to-great options (barrel-aged or not) sitting on shelves in nearly any respectable craft beer shop now, that it is harder to charge that kind of premium than it was even a few years ago.

Sure, there are a small handful of sought after whalezbro releases that can get away with it, but that kind of demand is difficult to predict or sustain.
