That cardamom, though.... just can’t do it.

Fortunately, Lift Bridge makes the best annual-release BA stout brewed in Minnesota, hands down. So I can forgive them messing up what might otherwise be a really nice BA barleywine.

(But really, please make a cardamom-free version of Commander just for me!)

((Ninja-edit because cardamom and coriander are not the same thing. But I don’t want either one in my beer.))

JW Lees Harvest Ale! There are BA variants available, but I personally prefer the standard. Though, not many places around are carrying them.

 

Same. Only had commander once and never wanted it again due to the cardamom. On the bright side, I walked over to town hall tap for lunch today and had a couple glasses of twisted trace. BTD may be the best barrel aged "black barleywine" in MN, but twisted trace is the best annual barrel aged barleywine. (cognac barrel aged patience is the best all around but who knows if we will ever see that again)

I've got some in the cellar, so I'll be seeing it again

 

BA scotch ales are hard to find especially well made ones. Past steel toe BA wee heavy have been better than those. Love the central waters BA scotch (and backwoods to a lesser extent) as well but steel toe really nailed in their last batch. If they repeat that $20 is a for sure buy for me!

 

Any Spirit Foul sightings in the NW metro?

 

Starts hitting shelves next week in Minneapolis and Metro.

 

Chan TW had it yesterday, sofa king good.

Grabbed some Spirit Foul at Total Wine Chan about 30 minutes ago. Still had a few sixers left.

 

Plenty of it left, in and out of the fridge this morning.

Zipps has Klockow, 750ml Wax-Dipped Bottles of Doppeldapple - Doppelbock; Shardik - Imperial Brown Ale with Local Wild Rice; Whitetail Bock - Imperial Maibock. Anybody try them? I see the brewery only has one rating here.

I see Zipps is selling Earth Rider beers too, I bought a 6 pack of stout

 

Liquor Boy said they expected it today but still delayed from distro.

 

TW Roseville has it $1599 and limit 1. Most stores will get it all this week on their regular delivery
