I know its a little early, but is there any advice to be had for strategy for hunting Bourbon County in Twin Cities on Black Friday? I was not into the craft scene prior to moving down to Iowa for school(2008), so am unfamiliar with any hot spots to check out.

It is a birthday tradition of mine and we get to spend it up there this year while visiting the parents for Thanksgiving.

    Parents are in south metro(Bloomington).

    Thanks in Advance!

Given your parents location, I recommend TW Bloomington. They have had an ample selection of most of the variants the last few years.

Regular BCBS will sit around for a while and be easy to get. Some variants will last a few days. Sought after variants will take work, or at least have so in the past unless you get lucky at a lesser known shop.

    Thank you.
Iowa normally only see's one variant(maybe a case per store of a second), and is usually very limited. Even having a potential opportunity to get a try more will be a fun time!

Just hit up your local Total Wine. Last year every location had literally 50+ cases of it.

You might want to try Cub foods and Sid’s if you’re on the east side near Lyndale and 86th. The two MGM’s might have some as well as Haskell’s if you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in the prestigious west side of Bloomington.

Anyone see Darkness at Costco yet? Not wanting a whole lot and don't want to pay too much for it either.

I can't imagine you'll have any trouble finding it. Bottles of it hang out in my store for weeks. Surprised people still hunt for Darkness and other seasonal RIS.

    What he said ^.

Yeah, I can buy it anywhere for $22-25 like it was 10 years ago.. I can go pick up last years at Cashwise St. Michael if I want to for that price. However I no longer feel Darkness is worth that. Hence; Costco.

My apologies, it's $16.79 and the Maple Grove location is confirmed in having them as of 45 minutes ago. No limit.

Drinking one tonight, tasting fantastic, chocolate, cherry, incredibly balanced and smooth and the hops make a return! I only bought two because of the format and price. Easily my favorite RIS when done like this years and I would drink exclusively year round if in a better price and 12 oz

Same - picked up two today and we drank one tonight. Very balanced and easy to drink, so I will probably pick up a couple more tomorrow.

And I believe you do not need to be a Costco member to buy from the liquor store.
