As an Iowa resident about to move up to the Twin Cities I see no reason there shouldn't be a "TC Metro Distro News" like there is an "Iowa Distro News". Between the "On tap Twin Cities" and the potential of this thread, all bases would be covered.

Not sure if this is a big deal to anybody, but 4-packs of Bigfoot '13 and '14 were on sale at Blue Max as of about Tuesday this week for $7.49.

They are the kings of vintage bigfoot... they seem to always have old big foot available for some reason. Good place to get 4 year old Celebration and Anchor Christmas ale too, although I still don't understand aging Celebration ale.

$15.99 at Big Top. That's a little more than I'd like to pay for it, but better that than $20+ Pentagram.

They definitely made it easy for me never to buy Abyss again with the price hike to $17+. Wouldn't pay much more than $16 for Dissident but it's pretty damn good...

I haven't bought beer for a couple of weeks so I have nothing to add, but I just wanted to say that I appreciate this thread and hope it stays active.

A lot of people seem to like aging it and since it's fairly cheap (especially at the Costco), I've been putting a couple in my cellar each year just to see what the fuss is about. It'll turn into a barleywine, but I'm not sure how good of one...

According to Bell's, Hopslam is being bottled this week, heading out next week, Interesting to see when we will get it. They also have sweet HopSlam Snifters in their general store

Looks like first week of Feb. They seem to point at those dates being when the distributor picks it up for the reasoning behind it.

    That and other questions answered:

Man, we get some unfortunate luck here with some releases. Founders Harvest, and Hopslam seem to be beers we always get a month after the Born on Date, but I suppose their is reasoning behind their logistics

Last year we were one of the first states to get hopslam. I was hoping for a repeat. Guess the fresh abrasive and summit hop silo will have to do... Sigh...

Thanks for the tip, went an picked up a couple bottles today. There were 2 left after I got mine.

I saw some bottles on a bottom shelf at South Lyndale. Didn't look at the price but wouldn't worry about it there, they are normally very reasonable. Looked to be at least 6 on the shelf.

Now that I got my Star of the North, has anyone seen the Framboise hanging around? Would like to complete the set!

The closest stores to me are the two stores in Buffalo (mostly the downtown location), and sometimes they have the odd bottle or so of harder to find stuff that's just sitting there. I'll try to post updates if/when I see stuff that other people are looking for.

When I first saw the title of this thread, I was thinking along the lines of a scavenger hunt/Easter egg hunt for beers. Oh well, this will suffice :stuck_out_tongue:

Isn't that basically what we all do anyway ? My wife thinks I am insane (she may not be wrong) for going into Liquor stores to "browse".

Are there any "American Wild Ales" around that I might be able to find? and piggy-backing off that question is Surly Pentagram a seasonal release or was that one and done? FWIW I'm in the East Metro

I think there is another batch of pentagram coming (if so would be the 3rd bottled batch), but not sure when... I know I have recently seen the 2014 still on shelves at a few places. I believe Sids in bloomington has it for 18.99.

for wild ales in general, there are many, many around. Is there something specific you were looking for beyond pentagram?
