Hold on to your wallet! I wanted it too, and made a drive down this past weekend but the $12.00 for 4 oz. pour (I know it is part cocktail) was a pass for me.

I wouldn't say I've struck out with the rest of Town Hall's menu, but you're right in that their burgers are the best option.

    Thanks again for the recommendations!

I had a great visit to the cities. I ended up going to Haskell’s first thing because of ease. Wasn’t blown away by their selection, but staff was nice. Young guy even opened me a can of Sky-Five to try, so I gave him a bottle of New Glarus serendipity as a thank you. Ended up getting Steel Toe “Sticker Fight,” which I thought was quite good. They also had a decent whiskey selection, with tons of Barrel Proof Elijah Craig in the glass counter.

Zipp’s was much, much better. Great selection and very friendly staff. Picked up some Drekker Super Freak based off of staff tip, and continue to be impressed (sipping one right now!). Also picked up some Lift bridge commander barleywines and their Irish coffee stout, a Napa parabola, a Summit barleywine (I drank a lot of summit in my boundary waters wilderness ranger days), and an ECBP A119.

I also swung by Modist. Interesting space. FYI ICYMi... was good, but, too me, overrated. I enjoyed most of the other beers I had more. Boozehound, on the other hand, was quite good.

Wild Mind was great. Fun space, packed full, and delicious beers. Tried the Spontane 18 / 19 side-by-side. My SO said it was her favorite fruited sour in a while (we drink lots of Funk Factory Geuzeria, Off Color, And side project). I tried dirty chai and be the machine, and thought they were fine but busy. Grabbed a couple bottles to go. Also got a crowler of Registered Trademark, which I found to be excellent. Really flavorful while also being inviting.

I’ll be back for a bachelor party in a few weeks, and am excited to try some more spots! Cheers!

    Footnotes:

Stopped by hopcat, didn’t get beer, just food to go. It was overpriced and fine.
Had a few other random beers. Bent Paddle Kanu was a good hot day sipper.

I visited Yoerg Brewing in Saint Paul a week or so ago, and the beers the owner brews are very good. The website gives the history of Yoerg Brewing in Saint Paul, and it originates in 1848, so it has a interesting history. On tap was Yoerg's Hefeweizen, Yoerg's Roggenbier, Yoerg's Keller, and Yoerg's Lager (the owner called it a steam beer as it used a special yeast strain used to brew this style). I believe he has a Dunkelweizen and a Picnic beer coming soon. So, I am anxious to visit again.

There was also a nice selection of German imports... a few I haven't seen in the Twin Cities market. I really liked the German Pilsener, Jever. He also had Fruh Kolsch, some Andechs, and a Fruhling Bock from Hofbrauhaus-Freising, and the Belgian Wit, Blanche de Namur. He indicated he was going to be tapping Pinkus Munster Alt. What was nice is all beers were served in their respective and proper brewery-labeled glassware. He showed-off the collection of tap handles, and it seems he has had a lot of very nice German beers on tap... not the typical brands you see everywhere else. Much appreciated!

I like a good old-fashioned beer flavored beer, and this place hit the spot.

Right on. I was there a few weeks back and it quickly became one of my favorites. The beer was quite good. Loved the Keller. Hefe was very good to excellent. PLUS the wide array of rarely if ever seen on tap imports he brings in really makes this a high quality stop for me.

Thanks for this thread. I'll be in the cities this weekend. If anybody is interested in trading I can bring some LA area beer and likely today's monkish release as well. PM me. Do need a bottle of No Rules.
