Hey just wondering what people think of running-tap.com? Going to be staying in Burnsville area Thursday to take my son on a college visit and want to try some local breweries. Will only be Thursday night and visiting campus on Friday and heading back home to Iowa.

Found running-tap while looking for breweries to try, just wondered if anyone has used their service or would it be best to hit a brewery for dinner with my wife and son and a bottle shop? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

I've never used that site and other than Town Hall, nothing really perks my interests. Keep in mind a full 64oz growler at the brewery cost about $9-10 for the normal lineup (without glass).

I guess it depends on how much time you have for the dinner/brewery experience. If you have the time to drive up to Surly, I'd eat there and stop by Zipps on the way back to bring stuff home. If you're somewhat limited and don't want to mess with the heart of the city, I'd go to Town Hall Tap for dinner and Wild Mind for a beer or two. I believe Blue Max liquors in Burnsville off of 35 (should be somewhat on your way in or out) still has one of the best selections in the south metro.

If you want to know of all the really good taprooms to hit up in the cities, there are other threads filled with info, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're looking for.

Thanks, if it wasn't a college visit with my wife and son I could spend a little more beer time, but that will be limited this trip.
