So I'm finally making it out here today, any must try beers on at the moment? Also any suggestions for lunch spots nearby? I've been to Chatham a lot but its almost always to go to my dentist so I'm never thinking about food.

The 2 I think you should try are Toys in the Attic an APA and Juicy Busey a Saison.
The best lunch place nearby is the River Grill on River Road. They have a good craft selection.

The weather isn't great for sitting outside, but Committed Pig in Summit is awesome. About 10 minutes away from Twin Elephant.

only 8 on tap, between flights and half pints try them all

had the toys in the attic last night and thought it was very good, gather clouds is good as well... should probably try the diamonds and pearls for variety and the new hibiscus wheat (I took a growler fill of that, but haven't cracked it yet).

some good food suggestions above - you could also BYO food into TEB - pascarellas just up the street has good sandwiches, etc. Or you could BYO TEB beer to a local spot, like Marie's Italian Specialties which is very good (been on Diners Drive ins and Dives)… if you wan to drive a bit further, the Stirling Hotel is ~15 mins away and has great beer and food, and the outdoor beer garden area is great (maybe not so much today unless is clears up)

Pretty solid, I'll likely be filling up growlers there when I'm home in the future. Thought Toys in the Attic and Gathering Clouds were the best of the bunch but I love Galaxy/Vic Secret a lot so that's not too surprising.

They use Vic Secret quite a bit, from what I've noticed.

Oh hell yea, happy to see a Hefe on the list. Though, I'm a bit confused why you'd want the banana & clove muted...we'll see! Still haven't gotten to try Tongue, Tied and Twisted yet either. Good list this week.

Hey ya'll short update after a busy couple weekends in the TEB world. We have a new beer dropping sometime on Friday after we kick Juicy Busey called "Hefen Is A Place On Earth". This beer is a proper seasonal Hefeweizen clocking in at 5.4% that is cloudy but super refreshing for the warm weather partly due to the non-traditional yeast strain that makes the typical banana & clove phenolics more muted like an accent note instead of the main show. On Saturday we also have a fresh batch of "Vigilante Tantrum" a 6.8% ABV American IPA DDH with El Dorado & a mix of Simcoe pellets and lupulin powder. Presents soft on a cushion of oats, fruity yeast, and medium bitterness throwing tones of mango pulp, white peach, and ripe orange.

    On Tap

What's up fam, hope everyone is in full Summer mode and by that I mean late nights and more suds. Got some freshies for you this weekend including two new batches of pale ale and new Milk Stout offering. On Friday you will see the return of "Plow United" a 5.7% ABV American Pale DDH with Enigma, Galaxy and Citra hops. Soft as a pillow fort with notes of grilled pineapple on the nose, tones of candy fruit raspberry slice, and a gummy tropical pop. Also on Friday we got a new Milk Stout called "Vigo the Carpathian" coming in at 6.2% ABV and conditioned on a roast called Deadman's Brew from Homestead Roasters in Upper Black Eddy PA. This is a Honduran roast that maximizes smoky dark chocolate & pepper notes. Finally on Saturday the staple American Pale Ale "Lil' Shimmy Ye'" will be dripping out the taps showcasing a double dry hop of Citra, Mosaic, & Belma and a 5.8% ABV. Notes of apricot pulp and honeydew melon nectar on top of an eclectic heirloom grist that gives a wrinkle of crackery biscuit.

We went ahead and made another rad change to our hours by extending Thursday nights another hour to 10pmstarting tonight! Also, again we will be open this Sunday from 12-6pm and will be for the foreseeable future. After we analyze a month or so we may adjust the hours.

I'm going to rain on everyone's TE parade with my bad experience there last weekend. I was there last Sunday afternoon with a friend for a few pours. The place was pretty empty but we still waited 10-15 minutes to get a few beers. Ordered 3 - 8 oz. pours and my friend asked the server for an extra taster glass so his wife could taste the sour. Server told my friend they don't give out glassware. I then went up and asked if we could get an extra taster glass and the other server behind the bar asked what for? Told him we wanted to give my friend's wife a taste and he said "Why doesn't she just drink from your glass" When I asked why they can't he said "We don't allow sharing".Really? At a brewery tasting room you don't allow sharing? They then directed me to take a plastic cup that they have out for water. Been to 100+ Breweries and Brewpubs over the years and never encountered this. Obviously it wasn't just a few jerks behind the bar as this must be their policy given both guys told me the same thing. And maybe if they were real busy and short on glassware I could understand but there were 10 people in the place on a Sunday afternoon. I've been liking some of the TE beers lately but the long waits for pours (same line for growler fills, pours and even cans when they have a release) and their glass policy shows me the place is poorly run (imo) and these guys just don't have any business sense.

sorry to hear about that experience... sounds very contrary to my experiences with the staff there, particularly the owners and other close partners who are all incredibly friendly and gracious.

They have definitely added a number of new people in recent weeks, probably to aid with increased demand as well as extended hours... they have also had lots of stolen glassware, which may have also been in the back of someone's mind (note most if not all of the glasses no longer have logos).... they also have to hand wash it all...

I wouldn't write them off for something like this... and not to discount your experience, but it seems like not such a big deal.. I can see why they may want to discourage buying an 8oz and splitting it into two 4 oz pours.. as they have different pricing...

I'm always amazed at what people get mad at breweries for these days. What a posh thing to get annoyed about. Couldnt get an extra taster glass for your taster glass. Solution: Let her take the first sip from the taster and don't make a scene or use the plastic cup they offered or buy an extra taster.

The glass policy shows the place is poorly run? Lol. Okayyyyyyy.

Guess you didn't read my post. Long lines when hardly anyone is there shows it is poorly run. And the long waits for pours have always been my experience there. And even on can release days people are waiting in the same line for pours, growler fills and cans. Most breweries understand it's more efficient to have a separate line for can sales. The glass thing (if that is their policy) is just short sighted on their part.
Not giving up on TE, I do like their beers but just sharing my opinion.
And sorry to see the Police presence has moved from the Magnify thread to the TE thread.

I work at TEB too, but that's one whiny complaint. Sorry.

I will agree they can improve the lines on can days.

I can see the reasoning on their glasses. IIRC an 8oz pour is less than 2x 4oz pours. They may have assumed you were "beating the system"

    I mean....they release cans like 6x a year?

I can see the issue with lines for growles/pours. That can get annoying - especially now when they are meeting demand enough to do growlers more frequently.
