Wandering around the bottle shop... Had that, had that, that's old, that's not what I'm in the mood for...I don't trust that brewery anymore... I've bought that too many times....Is this really a founders pale ale dated over a year ago? Oh about some Red's Rye in a 6-pack!? O wait... But, next to the last 6'er of Outlaw, a nice shiny new stack of beer. I've never seen this... Night Cat eh? Only 43 IBU's and a normal or somewhat low ABV of 5.8%? Nothing jumps out at me about this beer, other than it's new and Oh it's got Citra hops?!!! Eh, I will say Two Bros has yet to really disappoint me and they make some kick ass beers (Outlaw, Sidekick, Cane & Ebel, Heavy Handed, Revelry, Resistance) so I'll give it a shot. Bring up to register... $7.78 total. whaaa? Alright! Just polished off the first one. Superb. First sip I thought, well this is pretty darn light. But honestly, it's exactly what it should be. It's no Ruination with citra, but its hop kick delivers more than enough satisfaction and it combined with the fruitiness from the citra is quite delish! I don't know if this was mis-marked at $6.99? But I have personally never seen another craft beer 6-pack at that price...Is there one? (That is actually craft, I've never priced anything like shocktop or sam adams) Even Sierra Nevada prices their 6érs more than that.
It was 10.99 when I picked it up at Binny's yesterday. It is pretty tasty, I am not a big Two Brothers fan honestly but this and Sidekick are really great beers to pull out of the fridge and put back.
Not a huge fan of two brothers myself. However Revelry is pretty good and sidekick is just plain awesome. If regular price is $6.99 on night cat, I'm definitely gonna have to pick some up to try.
That price has to be too low. And I wouldn't have guessed this had Citra, not juicy enough, but a solid offering from a rarely-seen style nonetheless. Wish we got it here.
I was very pleasantly surprised with this beer! Got a keg coming for my house once the 1/6bbls hit the warehouse.
I am not a big fan of Two Brother's but I do buy SideKick occasionally when Walgreens has them for $6.99. So after reading this last night I picked up a 6er and it was the usual $9.99. I will have a couple tonight, I am actually a little excited to try this
Two Bros is a quality brewey. They make solid brews. Night Cat is a very good beer. No, they don't make a A+ DIPA or RIS, but pretty much everything they do is quality and above average. Just because so many people on here refuse to drink anything rated less than 94, doesn't mean they don't make good beers. Just means you are an elitist drinker who can't be bothered with anything less than a beer made for Gods.
Definitely impressed me, along with the already mention sidekick. I also am excited for Revelry to come out.
I like to think that Chicago folks are just down on Two Brothers because at every single house party seven people show up with six packs of Cane & Ebel ("I know you like beer! Have you tried this?") so we all just end up drinking a ton of their standard beers. But of course that's just another case of how spoiled we are for good beer these days. Apparently they have a chocolate and coconut ale coming for the winter - sounds interesting.
UPDATE: Just went to a nearby Binny's..$10.99 for a 6'er of this Night Cat . . . : ( Which confuses me, the store I got it so cheap from always marks up at least $1 over the "standard pricing"...And for DirtWolf they have the 4-packs marked at $14.99 I've never personally seen a mis-priced beer but I suppose this is my first. . .
