I feel like a homer posting this but this beer needs some love! It's unique, it's hoppy, it's phenomenal. I look forward to its release every year. It can be a bit boozy but not much worst that any other imperial beer. Why no love? Why so few reviews? Any other Imperial Red's out there?
i hear you loud and clear. thought it was a solid brew but kind of expensive, 15.99 a sixer. much love though for two bros.
For sure, I remember Revelry being a very tasty brew. One of the best from Two Brothers. Lagunitas Imperial Red is one you should check out (whenever they decide to brew that one again).
I had it for the first time last year after their retro 15th anniversary beer series - it was the best beer of the pack. I am addicted to this beer! It's almost a brandy as it warms and it's gorgeous in appearance. My biggest complaint is the price, about $15 for the six pack. I only intended to buy one six pack this year until I stumbled upon Whole Foods on Black Friday; they had 25% all beer including Revelry for $13.99. I bought a case.
Nice! I think it was going for around 12.99 to 13.99 last year. I also noticed a price increase in Atom Smasher this year.
After Two Brothers sold their distributing company, Windy City Distributing, to the Reyes Beverage Group all the prices on their stuff has gone up at least a dollar. I used to be able to buy Sidekick for $7.99 a six and now it's $9. NorthWind stout was $9.99 last year (a fantastic value) but $11-12 this year. Sorry Two Brothers but there's a lot better beer at those prices. The only reason I bought NorthWind this year is because it was 25% at Whole Foods on Black Friday. Otherwise, I would have just bought Old Rasputin.
yeah the price increase has been a real bummer, 15.99 for revelry matches a sixer of Hop Slam or Expedition Stout. However, like those beers i still pick up a sixer every year. on another note i feel like most of Two Brothers beers fly under the radar. many of their year round offerings are solid in addition to great seasonal offerings. also their 16th Anniversary Belgian Golden ale was phenomenal considering it was 16%.
I remember this being an awesome brew! I had it when I first turned 21, but I haven't gone back to it since. I know, I can be a schmuck sometimes. Lagunitas Lucky 13 should do for now. It was around 12.5%, the label was ok'd before the beer was ready. I thought it was excellent as well though.
Well, not knowing where you live and the lack of info you've provided I'll give you a start: http://www.beermenus.com/beers/two-brothers-imp-red-ale http://www.beermenus.com/beers/two-brothers-revelry
