Two more breweries coming to TX?

    Just heard a rumor that Funkwerks and Alesmith were coming to Texas, soon. Can anyone verify any truth to this?

    I had heard a rumor about Funkwerks but never Alesmith. There are some other big ones in the works for Texas, though.

    Agreed. I don't have to trade anymore, so I have more money for beer that would have gone to FedEx. :slight_smile:

    I heard Alesmith but not Funkwerks. I'd be very happy with Funkwerks showing up but I can't see how their production volume would support Texas on top of Colorado plus the handful of other states they are already in.

    I've heard that Flood will be picking up Crooked Stave and possibly Funkwerks...

    I've heard some similar rumors. I also recall hearing that Evil Twin would be coming sometime this year. So my guess would be that Flood will be distributing some of Crooked Stave Artisan's portfolio of beers (Not sure if Funkworks is distributed by CSArtisans)

    I'm fairly certain that Funkwerks is not distributed by CSArtisans. I'm unsure what kind of relationship exists between the breweries except for that Chad Yakobsen brewed for Funkwerks while starting Crooked Stave.

    Alesmith sounds possible for 2015. I see here that they are expanding, with a new facility opening in Jan 2015, which will increase their output by 10,000 barrels.

    Would love to have Crooked Stave's regular lineup available. Surrette, St. Bretta et all are incredible

    Yep, I moved here in 2009 and it is amazing how much better it is since then.

    New rule... if you "hear" a brewery is coming you now must qualify it as either "I hear a distributor talked to" or " the distribution contract is signed and they are launching 20xx." As I have stated before, the smart distributors have talked to most likely ALL of the breweries you can think about. Some say not now, some say soon, and some say never. I can confirm that all breweries mentioned have been talked to in some manner. 2015 will be a fun year, so get your wallets ready!
