I apologize if these questions have been asked and answered before but i could not find them by searching for the answers. 1. is there anyway to visually tell the difference between batch 1 and batch 2 chocolate rain? i seem to remember that batch 2 says contains alcohol on it and batch 1 doesnt but im not sure if im right 2. black tuesday from what i remember spends approximately 15 months aging in bourbon barrels. So my question is does chocolate rain age for 15 as black tuesday then age for however long on chocolate and vanilla beans or is it decided in advance that it will be chocolate rain and for the last month or whatever aged with cacao and vanilla? basically im wondering if it is aged longer or the same amount of time as black tuesday, same thought goes for grey monday as well.
You are correct about number one. Batch one does not say "contains alcohol." No idea about your second question.
When do we get the grand cru of Black Tuesday, Chocolate Rain, Cherry CR, Peanut Butter & Bals, White Chocolate, Grey Monday, Vanilla/Coffee BT, Bananas Foster BT, Mint BT etc. . . ?
The deal straight from Patrick is that they were trying to find hazlenut extract to put in the wax so the bottles will smell nice. That said, I just want some freakin transparency on when the bottles will be in hand. It seems right now that they are just throwing out dates that they never have any intention of hitting.
They were scented, bottled, and carbed. Pouring only from the bottle (I was at 4th session, so can't speak to the others) at the RS barrel Party. If I recall, someone said 12/6/12 for the release, which is tomorrow. They usually also send out their weekly tasting room email, and at times, new allocation emails on Thursdays as well. Believe there is just one left, which will be the Griffon Boulexi (sp) or whatever.
