If your dream is "having a local/regional brewer that can satisfy my desire for a readily available, consistently fresh, affordable hoppy IPA," I would think you'd be enthusiastic to try both year-round offerings in the hope that one or both hit the bullseye. After all, style only points you in a general direction; it's impossible to tell how those beers will line up to your ideal until you try it. Heady Topper is technically a DIPA, but if Road to Ruin was in that ballpark and priced reasonably, I would imagine you'd be pretty pumped. (As would I!)

More detailed posting on their website today ... (although dated 11/30 didn't see it there until today) ... http://www.tworoadsbrewing.com/construction-update-1130/

News of a Biere de Garde for the Holidays included in there as well as a little more info than the previous facebook post

OK - better explanation than your initial snark-tastic post.

On 1st glance it appears they r appealing to the vocal geek minority instead of the silent majority that pay the bills. FWIW I think that White IPA is a complete throwaway & will fail.

With respect to the "fresh hoppy affordable IPA " that could take care of itself with the contracting rumors I heard last year. Specifically 2R brewing for Firestone Walker..."local" Union Jack? Hell yes.

Not exactly holding my breath that the 2R DIPA will equal HT. I will definitely try it & would be satisfied if it's in the same league.

    Have you tried it?

No doubt I gave an extreme example. My larger point is that some DIPAs drink like IPAs and who knows where this will fall in terms of hoppiness, heft, ABV, etc.

i have a feeling these beers are going to be good and of the firestone walker and lagunitas variety, if that makes any sense.

Sure - glad u could take a break from cheerleading HF & Zwanze day to chime in here. Perhaps u can support a brewery with broad appeal like 2R?

Thank you for following my posts on the board! It's flattering (and creepy)! Perhaps if you followed me more closely, you'd know I am actually a "cheerleader" of New England Brewing much more than either of those. That said, I wasn't aware I wasn't allowed to get excited about some non-local "rarer" beers also.

If you want to continue the mud-slinging, why don't you PM me, rather than clog up this thread with it.

    Quick tid bit:

As posted on FB yesterday, they are now looking at opening the brewery late december.
They are currently waiting for a "certificate of occupancy" from the town to be signed.Seems to be the only thing holding them back.I believe, although not sure, they are starting distro. today.(Star Dist. btw.)

Also:That "IGOR" I was talking about is actually a RYE R.I.S.......This sounds so damn tasty!

    Cheers All.......:sunglasses:

...and keep in mind they are doing contract brewing as well so we can see some more out of reach beers hitting our area soon as well!!!

I think it's more fair to say the business model seems to be to contract brew but it's not clear that they have any contracts lined up yet ...

However you slice and dice it, it's a great add for the market.

They do have confirmed contracts as far as I know. The closest I have come to more info is "some west coast breweries"

Yeah, I question that only because a lot of the ones you "hear" of are ones that aren't approved to sell their products in CT (yet) ... like the one everyone mentions (Firestone Walker)
