This past weekend I stopped by and had a great time. For it only being their 2nd week open they are putting out some good stuff. The space was nice, it's small but for being crowded I was still able to find a spot to set down my flight. They have an outdoor area that I didn't get to check out, and a speakeasy type bar in the basement which as of now has a portion of the list upstairs. I didn't have a bad beer there (which is the complete opposite of an experience with a different union county brewery in their 2nd week open), here are my thoughts:

IPA - I went back for a full pour after the flight. Solid bitterness but dangerous at 9%
Russian Imperial Stout - This was everything I would expect from the style and hid the 11% abv well
Vanilla Chocolate Porter - A bit flat but not bad flavor. This might be nice for someone to try that doesn't necessarily like dark or bitter beers.
Tripel - This was spiced and tasted like something I would love to drink around Christmastime
Blonde - Very light and drinkable. Definitely their beer for most people to enjoy.
Rye pale - Not my favorite rye beer but still had some good things going for it.
Barleywine - Like the stout this is what I would expect from the style. Very nice flavor.

There are a lot of places to order takeout from in the area as well as restaurants within walking distance. A lot of the beers are high abv so I thought I should mention that.

These guys have been making beer for a couple of years, originally based out of Linden (where I grew up). I had a couple of their beers at the final Garden State Brewfest in 2016 and liked them.

It’s pretty close to my house, so I’m definitely planning to check it out.

I’ve only had a couple of their beers. One was a vanilla porter that based on my rating I did not like. Their 2nd anniversary beer Brute Squad Barleywine was a very nice beer, and I’m generally not a big fan of American Barleywine.

    Looking forward to stopping in.

The new tasting room in Kenilworth is less then 10 minutes from my office and I stopped in yesterday after work for the first time. It's a nice space with an industrial vibe, and the staff is very friendly. I think that parking could become a problem if it becomes popular. I'm not a fan of flights so I ordered a full pour of Field Artillery, the Russian Imperial Stout, which was pretty good - very smoky and bitter. As it warmed there was some black cherry but it's really bitter (in a good way). I also had a small pour of Hammer and Ale, the Imperial IPA. It's more of an English/Southern style malty IPA than the West Coast variety. To do it justice, I'll try to stop in next week for a full pour. Overall, it's a nice venue and while there's room for improvement, the beers I had were pretty good.
