Bottled 9/18/12, opened 11/26/14. I am surprised by how well it has aged. Still the right amount of smoke. Carbonation is even a bit high for my liking. Maybe has lost a half step on the malt, but still in excellent shape.

Yup! It ages surprisingly well for a beer of that gravity. Lots of people cellar it, and collect verticals.

This one ages great. Apparently the smoke character helps preserve it. It can age much longer than 2 years.

I opened a 2008 a few weeks ago. I found it at a bottle shop in Madrid. I have never had it fresh or any other bottle for that matter, but it was still delicious 6 years later. Still plenty of smoke character and overall a well-balanced beers. Would easily let one go another couple years.

Alaskan is actually selling a gift pack right now that has a 2013, a 2008, and two glasses. I've heard this beer is still good at 10+ years, if cellared properly.

I opened a 2007 two days ago. It was very good. I must admit to not really being a huge fan of smoked beers. The smoke flavors assault my senses and it feels like standing down wind from a camp fire. The years on this, though, really mellowed the smoke while still present, it was really a very nice addition to the strong malt profile.

I opened a 2002 bottle in 2012 and was very impressed. The smoke had mellowed and it was a velvety smooth beer. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that it can go even longer.

I love this porter. Seems it does well with some age.

My first and only taste was half a two year old bottle. Smoky as hell. Can't imagine it fresh but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I concur with what everyone seems to be saying. Holds up nicely, smokeyness doesn't fade much. Was lucky enough to get to try a 2006 a few weeks back and it was solid.
