I don't get this site... Pages 1-49 were fine on the old Label Approvals thread, but once we hit 50...!? Shut 'er Down... It's too cluttered!

To make this "thread related"... Sucaba, hells yeah!

I thought I had heard they were going to release it this year. Hoping they do at least.

On the TABC website it said something about an update to the label, so guess it had to be approved again.

This is more of an across site directive rather than specific to forum and page number.

We get a *lot* of requests asking for easier access to information by location, beer, etc.

Hopefully this will be addressed in a more straight forward manner come the upcoming site redesigns...but in the interim, this is what we've got. I know it doesn't work the best for everyone (i.e., often the more experienced users), but for more casual and newer users, it makes searching through the fora much easier.

in the other thread you specifically stated the following:

"Going forward, generic release theads like this will not be allowed. If you have information about the release of a specific beer or series of beers from a given brewer, post it. Otherwise, the thread is cluttered and information gets lost along the way."

So you want us to create a thread for each individual release (of which we could have 10 to 20 a week)? In my opinion having that many new threads a week is more cluttered and harder to find (stuff will get buried multiple pages deep) than one main thread.

Not to nitpick but I have to play devils advocate as in the past threads get locked and deleted without any warning or explanation. Even though we may not agree about what is happening with the threads it is finally nice to have one of the staff come in and at least say something..

To get back on topic cant wait for Stone Go To IPA!

Best to send things like this directly to F2. I can't say that he responds to everything but he responded to a similar question I had for him earlier.

I messaged the mod. More or less, the label approval thread has been given a go ahead for a monthly one. But the others are a no go it sounds like.

Heard from a SA rep it'll be a year-round bomber. First release will be April. Also after the experimenting with stouts in the bb series a seasonal IRS bomber might be in the works

Well, the last one that is now closed was very specifically February releases. So I really don't see the difference.

short answer: yes, create a thread for each release. it works in other fora with more people and releases. threads can always get merged if warranted. believe me, this doesn't exactly make my job easier, but sometimes, that's how it is.

texas is just cutting its teeth on getting some of these beers. as time goes on, there won't be as many norwill there be a need to note *every* release. you'll find the balance yourselves. if ths doesn't work, we'll find another way to do it. yes, we're open to other options.

bottom line: the old way just didn't fit. three pages of BS back and forth on BCBS variant releases and muling tactics doesn't cut it. it dilutes that thread and discourages newer users from posting/getting useful information.

as matt notes below, feel free to BM with comments/concerns. i can't respond to *every* BM (i'm just a part time volunteer here) but i will try.

I guess that new users are more important than your regulars.

In any case, I appreciate your use of the word "fora".

I'm a casual user and find this frankly more difficult a path than what we had. Have messaged mod.

So to be clear this specific thread is about official label approvals and not speculation about anything else in the same timeframe?

New users accidentally click the ad banner at the top of the page. Us seasoned users know its there.

If we're looking for ways to be helpful and useful to all users and especially new users, it seems like brewery-specific threads would be the way to go. For instance, I'd like to figure out some info on Austin Beerworks. Oh, a search reveals about 70 different threads to sift through. Wonderful.

Also, I'm pretty sure "fora" is typically only used as the plural for forum when discussing a public square or marketplace. Otherwise, it's Internet forums.
