Prairie - "what's the story with label approvals? 2 months seems like a long time to wait so far..."

TABC - "We have two of your applications pending: Vanilla Noir & Coffee Noir. Our lab will be contacting you about them via e-mail."

Not sure that means I need to start trading for it, but it's ridiculous it's taken this long.

Beat me to it. Just speculating, but hell, it's been 2+ months already?!

I think they (TABC) test the beer for accuracy in terms of ABV

I'm curious to what all goes into approving a label. Doesn't seem like it should take more than 20 minutes to knock out.

    To test ABV I assume.

I think they make it more painful to justify their agency. Based on seeing random stuff pop up, they make sure the label (art and name) is all "PG" which is odd for a product that is for 21+ only (I think deep Ellum Dallas blonde had an issue with this originally), they check the ABV and I don't know if anything else, but I agree there should not be a backlog

TABC will notify by email if something is wrong, or they will email if it is approved. Could just mean they will contact them shortly about its approval....... or could mean something needs to change.

Why is TABC wasting time on twitter rather than approving labels submitted 2 months ago?

HAH! That was my thought as well. I need to find this twitter and blast it 10 times a day with the same questions till they approve the damn labels.

Did anyone notice that orange wax Bomb! was 13% while the previous pink wax was 14%? Seems like we got orange wax pretty fast if they had to test the abv again.

The pink wax was mixed 14%/13%, I got bottles that said both. I think it was just a matter of them using the 14% labels on accident.

I thought Coffee noir was Texas only? So trading for it won't really work...

Maybe because Prairie asked them a question? I love hating the TABC but this is actually one thing Im happy to see, responses. Its not really "wasting time" to take <30 seconds to respond to a tweet....

Actually trading will work , I know one person that has Coffee... it's sitting in his brewery right now...and if not maybe one of the distributors has some. Get creative bro. Dare to dream.

Probably letting them know how quickly the coffee flavor fades. They are just helping all of us hoarders out.

Not really a discussion to have here, but it is counterproductive unless you are a TABC licensed retailer, brewer, or distributor. It is not the TABCs job to only get the latest rare beer approved for people to hoard. We don't know if the person handling the twitter account really has any sway on the speed with which labels are approved, and we don't want labels to be held up out of spite.
