If true, seems Indiana is always low man on the totem pole when it comes to tyranena. Thanks a lot guys!

To be fair they are located 2 hours from me and I have trouble getting some of there Brewers gone wild.... Also if they only have a certain amount it makes since they would send it to the closer to home markets first.

I disagree with nothing you said. In fact, I support choosing to distribute in the home state only (like new glarus) or only limited pub releases (like three floyds). But why choose to distribute to all of your markets except one? And why choose to eliminate the one with the least distribution variety?

I am sure a lot of it has to do with who sells the most of there beer with limited amounts of cases like this. Either way I do agree that if you have 4 states skipping just one is a bit strange.

The coffee is very faded and the bourbon is quite subtle. It is nice, but don't expect it to be anything like BCBCS or KBS.

I picked up (4) 4-packs on the way to a friends house last night. Had one over at his house and it was good, but almost too subtle. I remember it being better last time. Still enjoyable however!

I wasn't really expecting bcbcs or kbs, just wanted an idea what the flavor profile is. This sounds pretty good though, I think I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Interested in what you will think of it this time. The beer landscape has drastically changed in the past 6 years.

I wonder if/what the blend was last time?

I mean, it's Indiana, what do you expect? You're barely better than Ohio.

None of our former governors are in prison though.

12 bottles secured via my buddy. I am sad to hear the coffee is muted. Since its blended I was hoping the coffee would survive. Can't wait to try some!

Very true, but I think Tyranena has changed as well. I recall this being a rich, lovely beer with plenty of coffee & vanilla & bourbon - honestly, when I first tried it, I thought "this is what KBS should taste like!"

If it's toned down I'm going to be a bit bummed, but that seems to be where Tyranena has gone. Just my opinion, but it almost seems as if the brewery made a conscious decision to make their beers more subtle in the face of more aggressive beers everywhere else.

I don't know. Whose Your Daddy and Doubly down were awesome. Shaggin in the Wood and Devil Over a Barrel are definitely subtle easy drinking beers. I'm not sure if the blending is to make the beer more available, or ensure that it keeps some of the base flavors. Both Sheep Shagger and Devil Made Me Do It are not that big, so the barrel could easily ruin those if they were not blended.

When I hear people say certain beers aren't as extreme as they used to be, I tend to attribute this to palate shifts. I mean, yeesh, a few years ago I considered Gumbalhead to be overly hoppy!

That very well could be. I know beers that I first had years ago, don't seem as extreme anymore. I remember the first time I had Dogfish Head 90 minute and I wasn't a big hop fan yet, I thought it was the hoppiest beer I'd ever had. Well...it probably was at that time. I just had one at the bowling alley a couple weeks ago and realized it really wasn't as hoppy as I remember and there was actually a decent malt base with it...

Nobody's talking about beers being less "extreme". Devil was a wonderfully full-flavored beer in 2008 & multiple people above said it was "too subtle" or "muted". Perhaps everyone's palates have changed? Certainly possible, but there was nothing 'muted' about Devil when it came out the first time. And now I'll shut up until I've actually had a chance to try the new batch - can't wait!

Totally disagree that Sheep shagger isn't a big beer. It is rich with caramel flavor and has a huge mouth feel especially for a scotch ale

In terms of ABV, 7.5% isn't really that big to put into a barrel. I agree about the rich flavor and mouth feel though.
