Just to give another view I see no reason to seek this out, just a plain coffee beer that has zero bourbon taste to it, maybe it faded fast and tasted different on draft but would have bought their rocky's revenge over this in hindsight

Finally had this last night. I personally would buy this over KBS anyday. Tastes way more like coffee while it may not punch you in the face with bourbon there is a pretty marked difference between this and the regular version.

You'd be surprised how much you can change the flavor of a beer with a small amount of spirits. Never had the double down and even dirtier vanilla stout but that being said devil over a barrel is by far my favorite Tyranena beer.

I agree with it being better than kbs, especially for the price and availability!

Why is this being compared to KBS?

Because the original batch six years ago was better than KBS.

This batch is just good, not mind-blowing like the original.

I compared it to kbs because the first sip I took reminded me of kbs.

I thought every BA coffee stout/porter was compared to KBS.

Isn't an Imperial Porter = Stout???? Haha :grimacing:

Its a high gravity barrel aged coffee beer. I'll concede that its a porter but that only makes it one bag of grain short of a stout. I compared them because, to me, this is more of what a BA coffee beer should be. KBS is good but not great anymore. I understand people love that beer but there are just too many better options at this point. Its not that KBS got worse its other beers got better.

Anyone have a lead where I may still find some in Dane county? It's quite nice on a summers eve.

Just had one for "breakfast" today, and yea, this stuff is fantastic. Was shocked to see some show up at Appleton Woodmans last week! Presumed it was long gone. Of course I grabbed a couple more 4's.

If anybody is still looking, I scored a 4 pack at Whole Foods in Orland a few hours ago. There was still some when I left.

Anyone know what roaster's beans are in this and/or how they added coffee (cold brew, whole beans, etc)?

Anyone know if the brewery still has this? Last time I looked it was updated on June 26th if I'm not mistaken.
