Tyranena - Hop *****

    Tyranena tweeted yesterday that this beer will be hitting shelves soon. I've never had it but am looking forward to trying. What are people's thoughts on this beer? Will I be as impressed as I was with Devil Over a Barrel?

    Doubt it. To me it is good, dank, juicy, and piney bitter. WI IPAs have come along way and this one is more old school. I won't be buying any this year after buying it the past 2 years.

    Look for the new packaging, the yellow package would be year old Hop *****.

    I'd much rather try Karben4's new IIPA that will be released August 8.

    Thanks. I'd much rather buy K4 over a lot of stuff. Can't wait until their bottles hit.

    If you like IIPAs & haven't had Hop *****, definitely worth picking up a four pack. It's the best IIPA/IPA in bottles or cans from a Wisconsin brewery IMHO, & it's not really close (disclaimer: I haven't had Scream, yet, but hops seem to be the one thing NG can't impress me with).

    Scream and Howler are the top tier IPAs in WI (in my opinion), so for anybody who hasn't had them, you're missing out on A LOT.

    have you had Black Husky Pale Ale or Howler? Technically an IPA and IIPA. Both awesome beers.

    I had something hoppy from Black Husky at the Great Taste last year & was very impressed - looking forward to trying more, & Sparkly Eyes with spruce tips is right in my sweet spot. Will be looking for all of them when I'm in Madison in a couple of weeks, as well as holding up the Black Husky booth at GToM for a while. :grinning:

    There should be plenty around in bottle shops as well, unless all you out-of-towners gulp it up.

    Hop ***** can be hit or miss from year-to-year - definitely worth picking up a 4 pack to try.

    Discount in Milwaukee still has tons of last year's Hop *****. Don't buy the yellow 4-packs. Should receive maroon this week, hopefully the put it out.

    Rays has a bunch of the new stuff. Turned out great this year! Enjoy it while it's fresh!
