I was wondering if anyone here has used the U-Line styro-shippers? I bought a bunch from them today assuming they would be the same as the ones I get from U-Haul (U-Haul was out of stock). They are the same except the outer cardboard is white and there is a large fragile in blue on either end with two large arrows pointing up. I am a natural worrier and fear that these markings might give away the contents of the box more than the old fashioned brown boxes. Has anyone had any issues? Am I crazy? Cheers!
I have never used the U-Line boxes, but I usually always cover my styro shippers with 'Fragile' written all over and arrows pointing to the top saying 'This End Up.' I have never had a box checked (simultaneously knocking on wood). I think you are good to go. Hell, I once go boxes from U-Haul with big black lettering declaring, "These Boxes Contain Alcohol." I crossed off Alcohol and wrote in "Collectible Glassware."
Ya, I figure there is nothing to worry about. That said, if I stop worrying about things I will have too much free time on my hands...
Just packed up my first U-Line shipper. As @dresden notes, the way the styrofoam is cut, you can easily lay a tall can horizontally in the centre of the box to make it a 7 shipper. The only negative is that the bottle openings are of a smaller circumference than the U-Haul versions making sending the small growlers that some Ontario breweries are using (Dominion City, BtP, Old Flame) and wide bottomed 750 ml bottles un-sendable.
