I received a couple four packs of this beer the other day and drank one and thought it might be good with a year or two in the bottle. However, the bottle says best by end of March 2014, which is a few months away. I have a number of barleywines i cellar and they almost all get better with some time in the bottle, but was just wondering if anyone had any success/failure with cellaring this beer past its "best by" date. Thanks for any feedback.

Had a two year old bottle recently, still really good. I think they're being overly cautious with that best by date.

I'm aging a few. My taste buds say its going to be age worthy. Malt backbone is huge, and the taste is a little too sharp/bitter for my liking. I just tried a 6 month old and it's headed in the right direction

Thanks. I think i am going to hold on to them for a little. I agree it is a bit bitter for my liking right now as well.
