Lion stout and Oakham Citra. JHB has gone up in price and there's no more Bishops Farewell.
Going to have a Lion Stout with pizza followed by Citra.

    Bottle of wine

    two bottles of overcarbonated homebrew

some cromarty beers in bottles - prefer them on cask/keg but still very good to be fair.

On dig so not much beer except newcastle brown cans. Didn't get to drink the Double Dark Alliance either.

Found some 16th century wine bottles though, the family who lived in the big house here had personalized ones with their names on the base.

More good new but only the Box Steam dark & Handsome to celebrate
having said that it is very much like a 5% dark mild and one of the best I have out of a bottle
(it is a style that doesn't seem excel when not on cask)

For those of you who like their real ale (as i do) a visit Kelham Island in Sheffield is a must to sample the locally brewed real ale. Beer such as Kelham Island 'Pale Rider' and 'Sheffield Pride' are a must try for any ale lover.

Had a fantastic beery day/night in Brighton, the highlights of which were a couple of four-year-old Orvals; a bottle of 2010 Lou Pepe Gueuze; Magic Rock Rapture on cask; Buxton Axe Edge on keg; De La Senne Taras Boulba on keg; and a 2009 bottle of Green Flash barleywine. I was also reminded of what an outrageously good beer Saison Dupont is.

A quick visit to Stockport to see an old friend who moved down to London 10 years ago & was up for the day.

The Robinson's pub he wanted to go to was closed so I ushered us to The Crown (under the viaduct)
where I was absolutely treated to a pint of Three Tuns Mild, just so tasty
and was suitably impressed with the Liverpool Organic Breweries Stout.

    In Tiny Rebel news:

Fire Island closed down when the company owning it went bust. Now it's been bought by Tiny Rebel and will become their first tap house.

Their online shop will be open for business on the 21st August (next wednesday) Full Nelson in bottles for 1.90? Not too shabby.

Too many beers to choose from today. Will likely be an IPA variation mind. American in nature.
