Attended a Pete Brown Craft Beer Explosion tasting, we sampled a good few beers
    Cask
    Magic Rock Ringmaster
    Marble Pint
    Kirkstall Dissolution
    Bottle
    West St Mungo
    Thornbridge Versa
Ilkley Siberia Rhubarb Saison (most definitely not a Saison)
Bristol Beer Factory West Coast Red
    Moor Hoppiness
    Wild Beer Modus Operandi
    Durham Temptation
    Keg
    Northern Monk New World IPA
    Saltaire Kala Black IPA

Standout beer of the night was Modus Operandi
    biggest disappointment was Ringmaster

after a pointless training session I hit North Bar to sample a few 'Alpha Series' Beavertown Beers, an interesting 'Berliner' Weisse, and average 'Flemish' sour brown and a poor 'Saison' adulterated with Bramley apples.

As I am keeping the good stuff till Christmas, tho I only have 3 days off :slight_frown:

Have turned an empty 2 litre plastic bottle off milk into an impromptu stein & poured into it
1 can of Caledonia Best, 1 can of Shipsterns Bitter, 1 can of Courage best and a mini bottle of Shep neame spitfire

great I have a massive flagon of tastelessness

Adnam's Old Ale yesterday , couple of pints in front of a roaring fire plus a massive mixed grill to go with it , perfect match and harmony.Ordinary Adnam's Southwold Bitter today, beautifully kept and as good a pint as you'll get for the gravity.

Had the Stone/Calledonia IPA yesterday, was guff. Why Stone wanted to get into bed with them I don't know, it just tasted like most other cally offerings.

I like Adnams a lot, they have their own flavour from their yeast and make a nice range of beers. A lot of other regionals could look to them to see how it's done

I really like the Wye Valley brewery, so underrated in my opinion! The stout is something I'd love to try on cask one day.

The stout was rather nice - I'd have that again. Some of their brews are a bit lacklustre but this one was spot on.

I'm now on Salopian's Entire Butt Porter (i like big butts etc. etc.)

Midnight beer to celebrate getting my essay done. Raising a glass to the early Anglo-Saxon economy: good on you lads for preferring to farm barley more than any other cereal crop.
