    Ending the weekend with a rather old bottle of Old Dairy Snow Top, still decent though.

    It was the first of the night i thought it was pretty good. For me what a stout should be like smooth, strong roasted malt flavours. I preferred it to the Black Albert it had more flavour.

    Sorry but I did. Albert is good don't get me wrong but I like less balanced Harsher tastes from my stouts.

    Which reminds me
    every time I go into a specialist beer shop and I see some Struise I buy it.
    When I go to the till they say
    "Oh, Struise - have you tried the Black Albert"
    so I say "no, I haven't I really want to try it, do you ever have it in?"
    and they always say no, so why do they ask?
    they must be taunting me lol

    Celebrating 2 days off work and the end of flu
    with a farrago of international slanted food & drink
    Dutch Maasdam with German baked ham toasted in Italian style panini
    washed down with a Scottish Ale (Fyne Ales Jarl) sent by my amazing Canadian born friend Zimbo

    I had my student flat Christmas dinner today, washed down with a number of beers though the highlight was definitely the Tempest Old Parochial 10% Barrel-Aged Scotch Ale sent a few months ago by Zimbo, which tasted extremely smooth and not as boozy as a 10% should be. It went down easily and even my non-beer drinking friends were impressed by the sips of it they had.
