Grabbing a cup of coffee as I'm in Westfield Stratford early - Tap East Coffee in the Morning Stout (5.6%). Wholesome, thick, hints of sweet malt followed up by lots of bitter coffee. Decent stuff.

Got my eye on Windsor & Eton Red bitter, Oakham Attila strong Ale, Dark Star Rockhead US Brown and Schlenkerla Eiche for later.

The W&E Red Bitter is really interesting. With roasted malt and NZ hops it's got a good bitterness and depth of flavour. Only downside is it's a little bit on the thin side. Still punches above it's weight for 3.7% though.

Dark Star - Rockhead (6%) American Brown Ale. Pretty nice, tastes as boozy as it is. Chocolatey malts and fruit/pine from the hops. Full with a good clean finish.

Oakham - Attila (7.5%) Strong Ale. Really boozey, fruity, kind of sweet malts. Nice but not my preference.

Schlenkerla - Eiche Doppelbock (8%). Absolutely filled with smoke, again, deceptive with the booze. Not as thick or intense as the märzen. I really like it.

I think I may struggle to find a better Brewery this year after sampling several from Vocation http://www.vocationbrewery.com/. Stunning beers, seek them out.

Have heard good things about them but not tried yet, I think they and Cloudwater were the two biggest new openings last year by the sounds of things

Had a Wild beer Millionaire, BrewDog Punk IPA, Nitro Milk Stout at the new BrewDog Clerkenwell last night. I picked up a Buxton Yellow Belly today, although I think I may save it for something a bit special given the price.

I saw someone else's haul yesterday, apparently there's a good US selection?

Have only had one beer from them which was alright but not earth-shattering. Several Cloudwater beers have failed to impress so far.

Yep. Would definitely recommend to take a peek at them if your looking for Dutch or US beers, other countries are represented as well. Beergium is another similar site which I have used in the past as well.

Chimay Red - still not feeling it but alright as it warms
Chimay Triple - Triple's are way too drinkable. Deadly stuff but still a classic, I do love them.

    De La Senne Taras Boulba
    Gulpener Ur Hop
    Brouwerij Verzet Golden Tricky

The Ur Hop was nice, a light citrus beer with a nice bitter aftertaste, well balanced.

A few pints of homebrew stout, really tasting good now after 6 weeks or so of conditioning. Also an 18-month old dry-hopped Chimay clone, tasting very nice. Surprisingly hoppy for 18-month old.
Now going to bed with Lemsip as I've got a cold. Delicate black currant flavours with hints of acidic paracetamol.

    Rheinbacher weissbier from Aldi

I preferred the schoefferhofer that they used to sell, but it's still decent enough

A bit thin, but definitely drinkable.

Still managing to stick to Dry January...struggling, but will persevere.

Had an H by Hine cognac (purely medicinal of course) followed by a can of Adnams Bitter. It's actually quite decent for a canned bitter, lots of subtley spicey fruit.

Going into London tomorrow, to visit the National Gallery and then the Harp pub opposite. Looks like they have Fullers anniversary on as well as some Kernel, Red Willow, Sambrooks.
