Tried quite a few Cantillons, other Belgians and UK ones and while some were good I can't say I'd ever pay those premiums again. I just don't enjoy those flavours much anymore.

    End of my wonky week
A few bottles left in at home but with it being May wanted to try and get a pint of cask mild
Tried out Crown and Kettle under recommendation
Great place no mild well kept pint of Castle Rock's Sherrif Tipple
What with 'Spoons and CAMRA being such bum chums flew in Picadilly branch but half handpumps off and no mild anyhoo
    Had JWL kaleidoscope
Nice mix of bitter and red if slightly perfumed
Toying with idea of going to Dunham Masses brew tap as their dark mild is just awesome

    Scarborough fair is okay
    Not massively anything, bad included
It is however one of the best gluten free beers I've had

I attended a meet the brewer event with magic rock at heaton hops the other night. Really good event, rich from magic rock was great, just a great atmosphere and of course good beer. Was interesting to hear him say that they get complaints at the tap house over hazy beer. they are hosting another one with hawkshead in June as part of Manchester beer week where there will also be amongst other things similar events with thornbridge at the 3 font locations and Buxton at the magnet.

I've just bought some beers from belgiuminabox:
    Boon oude geuze 2013 750ml
    3 fonteinan oude geuze 2014 375ml
Lindemans oude geuze cuvée renee 750ml
    Hanssens oude geuze 375ml
Horal oude geuze mega blend 2013 750

About three months old which is amazing for a budget off licence
    But clearly past it's best
Not bad though all things considered

I love me some hazy beer. A German friend from work got me a bottle of Franziskaner she'd brought back from Germany with her with a Weizen glass so I could pour it properly. Very hazy, very good (considering it's a beer you can pick up from Tesco for £1.75 or something).

Day off so a pint of Youngs Bitter at the White Cross by Richmond riverside in the sun really hit the spot. Then a pint of Fullers ESB at the Princes Head on the Green, sitting outside again but in the shade. Again lovely, really intense spicy maltiness tinged with a marmalade-like fruit on this particular pint (more so than when I usually partake at the Mawson Arms at least). I feel a couple more to come. A perfect day, while channelling my inner Marquis. (That is a compliment by the way! Having a brilliant time!)

Lovely pint of London Pride too. Not as soapy as usual (which is good) but very fruity and very much obviously ESB's younger brother.

I thought this was surprisingly pretty hoppy for a robinsons beer! Shame they don't do it on cask in their pubs as it would be a welcome change.
