    Yeah that's piss taking

Now onto a can of All Day IPA, which I have had a number of times in the past and still can't quite work out why it is so popular

Cloudwater meet the brewer later on. Going to sample the DIPA v4+5 and hopefully get a growler of their delicious Citra IPA.

Ended up in Craft Beer Co Covent Garden so sampled a couple of Electric Bear beers , both great, the 7.5% blonde and Doppelbock. Also fresh Kernel IPA, Siren Tidal Wave (double soundwave).

Just back home after a twenty mile hike up the side of Loch Lomond. Had a couple of pints of Loch Lomond One for the High Road at the oak tree inn, fairly standard golden ale but at only 3% it was really impressive. No weakness of body or flavour

I've had a pretty IPA heavy week. I had Founder's Devil Dancer Triple IPA at the Earl of Essex on Wednesday. It was nice, but a bit thin. I would guess due to the 12%. Tonight I had the Rogue 7 hop IPA, Mikkeller Nuclear Hop Assault, Mad Hatter Redrum, and finished the night with Siren Dippy and the Equinox. I would have to say the Rogue and Siren were my favourites. If I see the Dippy again, I'm defo going to grab a couple, very tasty brew.

    Hitachino Nest Saison Du Japon

Good simple saison. Immediately reminded me of the one I made recently, I think the yeast must be the same/very close

Great evening the other day with Cloudwater brewer Paul Jones. Tried a US Light, Session IPA, and Citra IPA on tap, followed by the DIPA v4 + v5. They both had dry hopping done at different stages, earlier with 4 which made it less juicy and fruity but more dry, bitter and quaffable. 5 seemed to be more popular, though the blend of both was the best. V6 will be pretty much a bit of both.

It was great to hear Paul talk about the ethos of the company too, and the thinking behind their beers. Lots of passion, as is normally the case with these great, small breweries.

    Ale Browar Rowing Jack
    Wiper and True Mosaic Saison
    Artezan Pacific Pale Ale

No duffers here but standout the Artezan, like their Mera, a lovely citrus lingering APA from Poland.

A new 100% keg joint has opened in Peterborough not far from the station. It's a nice place with a good selection but they're taking a huge gamble offering meagre US sized units in a nation of pint swillers, particularly when the largest offering is the price of a normal pint. It's also pretty cheeky having signs telling customers to return their glasses, which a lot of us do anyway. As a start-up it needs to pander to its customers a bit more. I wish it all the best and look forward to returning though (after payday!!!). Peterborough has a pretty decent scene at present.

Bristol Craft Beer Festival brewer release @ the Small Bar :

    Cloudwater US light Ahtanum Bravo
Burning Sky Saison a la Provision
    The Kernel Export India Porter
Stone Arrogant Bastard (cheers to the guy who bought me this)
    Stone Cali Belgique (@ Brewdog)

Cracking selection of brews, the Porter being the stand out for me. Haven't picked up a ticket for Sept yet as they are £35 a pop with unlimited tasters, have to say based on the brews last night very tempted.
