Nothing special, but had a couple of each of...

    Traquair - House Ale,

    BrewDog - Electric India.

Enjoyed both while watching the football tonight.

    Both from Aldi BTW.

The other beer rating website lists it as Simcoe with fresh ‘green’ Target hops. However, I did get a lot of floral and early notes, and I wouldn't have associated with those hops. It could be that they mix up the hops from year to year. I would like to see a really amped up fuggles/EKG IPA to see where that goes in the extreme. In any case, great beer and thanks for the tip off.

After a month off the juice I am about to embark on Beavertown: Lupuloid, Bloody Notorious and Peacher Man, followed by Ruination and a big can of Against the Grain DIPA. Wish me luck.

    Anspach and Hobday Altbier
    Anspach and Hobday Deutsche Bier
    Anspach and Hobday Munich IPA
    Anspach and Hobday Rauchbier

Lovely way to celebrate Oktoberfest apart from a trip to Munich. 5th taster was Buxton Ice Cream Brown Ale, a wonderful black style IPA with lactose.

Is this only Scotland ? My nearest supermarket is an Aldi and I cry every time I enter in respect of their beer range. Luckily there is a deli next door which does a great range of local brews.

I had a taste of it at a local beer festival the other day and would be surprised that it didn't have any US hops in it. However either way, it was a fantastic hoppy ale as you say.

Yeah, it's another Aldi Scottish beer festival, 3rd this year. They also have the very nice Six Degrees North - Honey Be Good.

Note to self...pick up some Honey Be Good tomorrow. :grinning:

My weekend was Zwanze Day at the Kernel, so it was a bit above average: Cantillon Zwanze 2016, Cantillon St Gilloise, Kernel Pale Ale (simcoe), and Burning Sky Anniversary. No complaints at all...

    Then last night I had
Maneblusser Bok which was very enjoyable Bronckhorster midnight porter
Which tasted to me like a black Russian
Then St. Bernardus Abt 12 which I loved, slightly sweet with sasparilla notes
IMHO it beat Westy 12 down.

Had a wee day out with Mrs.K as Morton didn't have a game. We walked 5 miles to The Corbie Inn and had...
Crossborder - Pale, light refreshing pale ale, lovely,
Courage - Director, old style ruby ale, again, very nice.

Got a taxi to Linlithgow, had...
Orkney - Dark Island, excellent dark ale with a slight bitterness,
Stewart - Ka Pai, beautiful golden ale with a hint of butter and caramel,
Fyne - Gold and Green, meh,

Bought a few beers to watch the Scotland game...not going well so far, the football, not the beer.
