Sticking with a local brew this evening. Hop Britannia from the Treboom brewery, s'OK but the character is a bit muddled....

    Alvinne - Melchior BBE 2013
Arbor - Some Kind of Wise Guy
Moor - Comrade Games, Do It Together
Green Trees - Afghan Pale Ale
    Harbour - Little Rock IPA
    Thornbridge - Chiron

Stand out brew was Arbor. When these hopheads get it right they really nail it and SKoWG is just that.

Visited New Bristol Brewery yesterday for their open day to launch their Brew School. Looks very interesting with lots of courses to suit all tastes :

Decent selection of brews tried :

New Bristol Brewery Supernatural, Japan, Like a Version, Le Soleil. Supernatural and Japan the tops for me, decent IPA and tea infused Pale Ale.

I have had nothing of note for quite a while now, really need to fix that.

Tried a new aldi beer - 1079 Project, sold in 4x330ml cans a dry hopped pils for about sweet fuck all a can. It's one of their cheapest beers, made in the Netherlands by I assume Bavaria. It's not what I'd call dry hopped although tbf to it its not offensive. Can't be bothered making a new listing for it though

Other than that all I've been drinking is some homebrewed beers, one hopped with hpomegrown hops and the other with lots of cascade., both quite nice but not exactly earth shattering

Verdant Chasing Kevin - standard juicy pale ale.
Northern Monk Heathen - really good IPA, juicy as per these days, but also nicely, more-ishly bitter. 7.4% but I could have drunk a gallon of it.

    It's finally Friday....
Kicked off with a bottle of McGrath's lager, followed by Verdant's Bloom (insanely hoppy - perhaps overly so).

Now I'm on a Lagunitas IPA.

Rooster's brewery in Knaresborough had an open day today so I went along to have a look. They had a good range of their brews available to try, along with tours of the brewery. Most enjoyable and a fair few people turned up - I sampled Modern Way and Highway 51 while I was there. Made off with some of their latest offerings in cans....

Beer wise I've been drinking McGrath's Pale Ale,
    followed by Harviestoun's Raspy Engine
    and now Magic Rock's Rapture.

It's fair to say I have just had the worst beer of the year for the thread

My dad dropped off some beer yesterday and I put it in the fridge - stella stubbies btw - so decided to drink it tonight. tastes like some sort of fetid perfume, turns out the bbe is February 2011. fairly sure he'll have bought it for a bbq in 2010 and left it in his garage since then and has now chored it off to me the devious old bastard  fucking state of these emoticons

    It is awful

A couple of pints of Guinness, a warm bottle of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (apparently it's not the done thing to turn your beer fridge on in a pub), a few Dalwhinnies along with a massive burger and a good pub quiz.

    Monday nights done (fairly) right.

Lol. Hang on to the rest of them for a few more years and then re-gift them back

Tonight I'm sampling Elgood's Cambridge IPA - actually not too shabby. By modern standards it's more like a pale ale in character but a decent brew.....

Take it, it doesn't age very well ? Sounds like a hypermarket rush batch. Those were the days, lol !!

    Here's my latest list :

    Yeastie Boy's Pot Kettle Black
    Electric Bear Cherry Blackout
    Naparbier Napar Porter
    Northern Monk Neapolitan Pale Ale
    Gloucester Brewery Demi God

No duffers, particularly liked the Napar Porter, nice light smoked feel to it. Now doing my homework for a trip to Warsaw next week.

Nice trip to my favourite local tap houses to see what they had to offer :

Moor Rye's Against, Stout, So'Hop, Claudia, Hoppiness.
Left Handed Giant Sticky, Sticky Fingers, BA Lactose Tolerant, Red Ranger.

Looking at Moor need to join Wriggle, Bristol as there are some very good deals there, altho looks like you need a smart phone to use them. Personally would prefer they did a happy hour so everybody, even the technically unminded like myself could get some cheap beer, lol.

Standout brew by far was the BA Lactose Tolerant, a lowish ABV milk stout, which really came alive in the Bourbon barrels. Talking with them Bristol scene is developing a pace with London based tap houses spotted in town, new breweries and bottle shops opening.

Kicking off Friday night with McGrath's Irish lager - OK but unexceptional.

Now I'm sampling Brewdog's latest collab with Cloudwater, New England IPA V2. Very nice - like being buried under an avalanche of aroma hops....

The fridge got left open for 9 hours today so while my beer cools down again I'm slumming it with some Red Stripe from the local corner shop.
