The American Venture was a drain pour, like lemon detergent

Just drinking Fierce Beer's Fuego Feroz - turns out it's a chilli beer with habaneros in it. Not at all obvious from the label. My tongue feels like hellfire....

I've enjoyed a few bottles of 1845 recently. Great as the evenings get colder.

I also had a few pints of Robinson's Dark Vader red ale at the Horniman at Hays last night, decent beer, and a great view of the HMS Belfast.

Haven’t had one for the best part of 10 years, it used to be a decent option, but luckily things have moved on.

Nope. Not sure how good it was back in the day, but since Heineken got their mitts on it the quality has taken a nosedive.

As for current beer consumption, I've just finished a Harviestouns IPA (great) and am now on London Beer Factory's Sayer's Stout (decent)....

Fantastic tap takover and meet the brewer/s with De Molen @ Small Bar, Bristol on Wednesday. Had a tasting evening with 2 of the brewers, who were really down to earth, funny guys :

De Molen Hop and Liefde, 21 grams Cryo Hop, Mooi and Meedogenloos, Hel and Verdoemensis Brett BA Bourbon, Bommen and Graten, Geuren and Kleuren.

All were top notch in their own ways, G and K was a smoked IPA which definitely worked but stand out for me was 21 grams Cryo Hop, an awesome Vermont yeasted DIPA @ 9% which drank way,way below that ABV.

    This weekend :

    Lervig Hazy Days
    Kees Export Porter 1750
    Vocation Smash and Grab
    McGraths No.5 Red Amber Ale
Northern Monk Don't Mess with Yorkshire Ale

Another nice selection, standout being the Northern Monk, really crisp pale ale. Have the delights of Bristol Beer Week to look forward to :stuck_out_tongue:

Newky Brown? Or Dog, to give its more appropriate name?

    No. It's gash.

I've been imbibing the german beers from morrisons - Spaten, Lowenbrau and Erdinger. None really worth going for again but they are good value for money.

also had a few homebrews and onto some Loch Ness dark Ness - decent stout, I think it's brewed at Cairngorm now and given that they brew Black Gold they clearly know how to brew a lower abv stout.

The Augustiner is a great beer and the other two are not?

Took the Morrisons deal and didn’t really enjoy they beers too much. All just “ok” in my taste opinion. All a bit “thin” and could drink better, way better but at £1.50 a bottle not a waste of time.

Yesterday however I stumbled upon Paulaner Oktoberfest in Majestic 20 x 500mls bottles at £40 and right enjoyed that beer. Too much, I am feeling it this morning.
