Enjoyed a cracking pint of Harvey's Best and another of their Dark Mild at the John Harvey Inn, just across from the brewery earlier. Really lovely stuff, fresh and at their best.

Heh - my bottle was BB 2011, so it was rather well aged. Quite a bit of oxidation, but still balanced and fruity for all that. I can imagine it being hot when fresh though....

    This evening I've had:
    Shipyard Rye pale ale
    Electric Bear Werrrd!
    Brewdog Dead one-trick pony

Coming up - Oskar Blues Hotbox

    Omnipollo Selassie
De Dochter Van Den Korenaar Charbon

    LMAO
tho not as bad as you would expect
but I think it was the lowest expectations I've ever had
& I've drank some shit beer to expressly prove it was shit

    Cloudwater Wizard King Imperial Stout
    might not be universally loved
I thought it was like drinking a fine cigar
    smokey & rich
I loved it & think it goes someway to justifying the hype of the brewery

    Here's what's been tickling my tonsils :

Sam Smiths Yorkshire Stingo, Taddy Porter,
Basqueland Brewing Project/Lervig Nor'way Jose IPA
    Rogue Honey Kolsch
Magic Rock Bearded Lady Dessert Edition Bourbon BA
Left Handed Giant Late Night Fist Fight

Standouts Nor'way Jose and Bearded Lady. The latter reminded me of Lervig 3 Bean Stout, another cracking Imp.

I got a bottle and had it last weekend actually. It’s good stuff, certainly worth trying if you come across it, but I didn’t think it was as mind blowing as it would have been a few years back given the beer scene in Europe now.

I was in the general vicinity of Chetford today, so decided to make my annual trek over to Old Chimneys Brewery to see Alan. I got some Good King Henry of course, but was super excited to pick up some Red Admiral and White Admiral as well. I believe he only produces these beers every couple years (2017 was brewed to mark his 40th year as a brewer), and there were only 380 and 180 bottles made of each respectively. Not sure when I'll pop them.
Aside from that, I'm drinking some Ballast Point Victory at Sea tonight.

    Tonight:
    Brew York - Nuba
    Brewdog - Slot Machine
Green Flash - West Coast IPA

The Green Flash brew is brewed in Belgium, and tastes weird (not bad, just weird).

Tryanuary finished, delight to try some new beers. Heading into Feb with some stunners :

    Sam Smiths Oatmeal Stout
    Brewdog Hazy Jane
    Tempest Mexicake
Left Handed Giant Reuben loves Apricots, Deeper Water, BFG, Twilight City Grid, Duet - Azacca/Simcoe, Sky Above
    Verdant Putty

Nice LHG taphouse evening, all solid brews. Always nice to visit and they are really hitting out quality with their newish kit. Mexicake best chilli based beer I've tried. Putty the pick, phenomenal NE DIPA, hit all the right spots.

Beavertown/Verdant Shut up and play the hits DIPA last night. Again, another class DIPA, so many good DIPA to be had in the UK at the moment.

I've got the GC Bruocsella in my fridge right now, but probably won't pop it until next weekend. Also picked up Nath and Fou Foune last week. Sadly, as I get older I get worse and worse heartburn when I drink more than a glass or two of lambic. I need to be well prepared if I'm planning to drink a 750.

Picked up a trunk full of bottles on a trip through Brussels and Germany last week, so I'll be making my way through them over the next couple months. Started Friday with somewhat random selections:
    Averbode (Brouwerij Huyghe)
Single Green 2017 Hop Farm Brewery (Brouwerij De Plukker)
    Scheyern Kloster-Gold Hell (Klosterbrauerei Scheyern)

I got a growler full of cloudwater’s Birthday dipa last night. I didn’t get chance to have it last year, but this is exceptional and has that magical feeling that some of their v dipa’s did that their recent dipas don’t. I’ve thought recently the verdant ones I’ve had surpass cloudwater but this is awesome.

    Friday beerday!
    I've had:
    Radelberger Pilsner
    Burning Sky Saison de Fete
    Dugges High Five
    Brewdog Slot Machine

The Saison de Fete was a true classic....
