Enjoyed a PranQster from North Coast last Saturday night. Overwhelming taste of fresh-squeezed carrot juice!
    (Oh well, at 8% I got my buzz-on. )

My uncle once said the smell of a kriek (I think Hanssens) reminded him of the smell of urinal cakes. We laughed, I slightly agreed and the beer was enjoyed a lot by both of us.

Beat me to it! I don't generally like the smell or taste of actual tobacco, but when I get that taste in a glass of Adam, it's just amazing.

I'd say the opposite of black licorice. Love it as a candy, but hated Belgo Anise IRS since it tasted like trying to smoke a licorice stick.

Depending on the beer you don't have a problem IYAM.

A question about the tobacco taste reported by many. I sometimes get the smell/taste of that dark overripe cherry that does remind a little of some kinds of burley tobacco, especially ones cured or flavored with cherry in mind, for pipe smokers. Is that that the flavor you refer to? Or am I missing that it actually smells and tastes like the finely cured and aged tobaccos of an unlit cigar? Or?

Dank garlic/ onion (or sometimes wet socks) that is sometimes present in big "triple" IPAs like Devil Dancer or Hop Dam.

To me, it's sort of the combination of smokiness from the malt and a certain bitterness from hops sometimes that weave together to create that slight tobacco flavor

Came here to say this. Whenever I have someone try something like a Rayon Vert, I always preface it with...just so you know, it tastes like band aid.

On a more serious note, Samuel Adams has a Whitewater IPA that is flavored with apricots. I hate apricots and was very suspicious but thought the apricot softened the hops while the hops melded well with the apricot. I really enjoyed the Whitewater and scored it a 4 on my review.

It is a distinctive scent that you would recognize if you have spent time around horses. Blankets used on horses accumulate scents from them and their envirnoment. Bacteria and other rmicroorganisms proliferate on the blankets as they get dirtier. They do not get washed as often a normal person's clothing. It is musty, but not necessarily a bad scent. Horses really don't smell as bad as many other farm animals do.

Maybe I have difficulty distinguishing this scent because (a) I don't spend much time around horses and (b) I don't wash my clothes as often as most normal people.
