But you'd have to apparently drink it out of a red solo cup in your lifted 4x4 if you go to that store... Just a forewarning

I'm gonna be in SD on Sunday. I want to pick up some Uncle Jacob's and I also just want to go check out some cool bottle shops (only bottle shop I've ever been to down there is the Pizza Port one in Carlsbad). Someone told me to go Best Damn Beer Shop. Any other recommendations?

more likely you'd wait 30 minutes for the traffic on the freeway exit to clear before slowly making your way through a series of intersections where you cannot proceed despite green lights because too many cars tried to squeeze through the intersection and are now blocking it before you finally get to the store and almost get t-boned by a mini van driven by a young mom texting on her phone while sipping a starbucks cuupofsugarwhatever.

and btw - i lived in temecula in the early '90s when the original, pre-russian river bling pig was available in bottles so give me some room to speak freely regarding Trafficula.

Honestly - speaking as a former Californian who now lives in Colorado - your best bet might be to try to initiate a trade with a fellow BA'er in Colorado. While they are expensive and sometimes hard to get here (although not lately - some are sitting on my local liquor store shelves), I bet you'd find someone who is willing to trade for some LA/SD brews.

    Two things:
    1) They recently raised the price of UJ's here. I've seen shelf prices as high as $15/btl, but are generally in the $12-$14 price range.
    2) There are different batches of UJ's, each has it's own characteristics. I personally prefer last year's batch to this one, but both are incredible. One of my top 3 bourbon stouts definitely.

One secret that's really only known to locally: A beer called "Legend of the Liquid Brain" produced by Bull & Bush Brewery is arguably as good - if not better - than Uncle Jacob's for about 1/2 - 2/3 of the price. I've had numerous bottles of both and I'll be honest - $4$, nothing beats Liquid Brain.

It's $9 at TW. Scratching my head on why a CO beer would be 50% more in CO.
