I'm new to the whole aging the beer craze but I'm now interested is Avery's Uncle jacobs stout a pretty good one to start with you fellow beer snobs think?

Yeah, it's probably a good start. My problem is $15.99 for a 12-oz bottle. Seeing that I'd like to try it first to see if it's something I want another of down the road, it's unlikely I cellar one. It's actually unlikely I even buy one.

Barrel-aged, if you're asking my opinion, is best at one year. The high ABV on Uncle Jacob might lend itself to a little longer to mellow, but I don't know for sure.
