Uncontrollable blowoff - let it ride?

    FERMCAP! yes.... thanks @SFACRKnight . Jumbling my homebrew additive terms :confused:

    But, since we're on the subject, I'm an Irish Moss guy, not whirlfloc, for clarity

    Or next time split batch into 2 fermenters, thus no blow off.

    If I had another 'brett-dedicated' fermenter, I probably would've done that! I was shooting for 5.25-5.5gal into the fermenter, and ended up with 6 gal and some change. My boil-off rate is very unpredictable

    Perhaps soak fermenters in a stiff bleach solution. That should kill everything. I had some infection problems once and soaked everything for a week. After a complete hot water rinse followed by the usual starsan no more trouble,

    I just hook up a blow off tube and put the end in a bucket with little sanitizer solution. Prevents any mess.

    Yea, I've been doing it that way for years. Of course the one time I decide I'm not gonna use a blowoff tube it happens! :angry:
