Along w the under-hyped beers out there, the amount of over-hyped/rated beers is astounding. I will not provide my list as it might get me in trouble here ! LOL.

It's hard to beat, especially with a year on it.

I have seen a few mentions of speedway stout, the abyss, and duvel. All 3 are fantastic beers and the abyss and duvel are among my favorites of their respected styles. I do think these brews get a lot of love though and are "gold standards" of their styles. Some beers I would add to this category are Stone IRS, great lakes Edmund Fitzgerald, bells hopslam, and many other beers of Fame.

Beers I have found to be underhyped personally are a lot of fantome saisons, Southern Tier Choklat, Alesmith DIPA, Russian River Porter, Captain Lawrence Palate Shifter, racer 5

For drink local...I really like what The Brew Kettle and R. Shea (Akron OH) are doing. And full pint rye rebellion is great too.

Don't even get me started on R. Shea. It's amazing some of the stuff they are putting out now, only 2 years into brewing. Absolutely love that place. Just had one of my Anniversary bottles last night. Brandy Barrel Carbon Black. Great beer, absolutely loved it. Plus the fact some of their NEIPA's are competing with Hoof Hearted. I have a feeling they won't continue to be under-hyped for much longer.

Another local one that is probably overall the most under-hyped brewery in the Cleveland area is the BottleHouse. Beers of all styles, sours, meads, and ciders... amazing barrel program, I still can't comprehend how the hype for them isn't all over the place by now.

Many of the beers people think are under-hyped weren't always. When I first stumbled upon BA a good number of the beers that are collecting dust on shelves all over the country were borderline white whales. Give it time and I bet most of the current top 50 will become old hat, too.

Anything from Von Trapp. They don't do any styles that are the latest craze so they get minimal social media attention. They only do traditional European styles, but boy they really hit those styles.

I sort of feel the same way about Deschutes Black Butte Porter. I first had it on a visit to Texas and couldn't find it here in NC as it wasn't distributed here. But they are opening an east Coast Brewery in Virginia and it is now in NC. A wonderful Porter and a nice change from IPAs.

I gotta say that Speedway stout compared its brethren in the same style is relatively overpriced
