I went in and rated my favorite beers on the 0 to 5 scale here and then listed them by Deviation. I apparently like these beers significantly more than the average rater:

    Trois Pistoles (19.3%)
    Rochefort 8 (16.3%)
    Founders Double Trouble (13.6%)
    Dreadnaught (13.4%) Really?
    Hopslam (11.9%) Again - really?
    Odell Myrcenary (11.5%)

Myrcenary doesn't surprise me but the rest of them kind of do. What beers do you really like more than the typical beer reviewer?

    Schlafly Pumpkin Ale (18.2%)

Aside from that, I'm typically under the average on my reviews. The next highest is Bells Amber Ale in the 9% range. Schlafly Pumpkin Ale is one of my all-time favorite brews, so I will always give it high marks. I haven't posted a review in awhile. I need to post a few.

I love their A-IPA. Wish they made that year around.

Schalfly consistently puts out some good beers. The A-IPA wasn't for me. The Amarillo overwhelmed the whole thing and I am not a huge fan of that hop. I get an awful Froot Loop taste from it. I definitely enjoy the Winter ESB, and thought the Yakima Wheat was great.

    Loved :
    Meddler
    Hiveranno
did not review but brought these to a tasting and most agreed that hiveranno was as good as supplication!
Meddler is amazing. I think it is rated lower because it is not super sour but it is so complex and well crafted. Odells to CT please

    Bell's Sparkling - 17.5

And for fun, two beers I like WAYYY less than most people:

Goose Island Imperial IPA - 53.1 (though the most recent time I had it there were some possible infection issues)
Great Lakes Christmas Ale - 36.1

Yards ESA and Uinta Detour Double IPA. On the latter, I think I received an exceptionally fresh bottle when I first had it. On the Yards ESA, I stand by that one as one of my favorite go to beers. Well balanced and very tasty

A bit confused here as Dreadnaught, Hopslam and Double Trouble are damn near legendary! Most love those beers and seek them out.
    Am I misunderstanding this thread?

Bourbon Fred from the Wood at +20.8%. (This is easily explainable because I had the 2012, and all but perhaps 3 or 4 of the other bottle reviews are from the inferior 2011)

The next is Old Richland at +9.8%. I think I got a good bottle as there seems to be some bottle variation with that particular beer.

Agree with Casedogg. How can some of these ever be underrated? Perhaps a beer that is rated overall under 4 that you see as a 4+ would be a better benchmark. Nonetheless, a good forum for underachieving brews

It is what it is right? Hopslam and Dreadnaught are my two favorite beers so I have them at 5 stars. You saw the deviation it gave my rating above the norm.

You're just quick to give out 5s. Different people have different tastes. I would rank Rochefort 8 wayy lower, for example.

I tried to give a smoother distribution through all my beers so I think 5 of them got 5s and them I went down accordingly. I do love the Rochefort 8 however more than any other Belgium.
