I realize Moorhead is a long way away for most people on this forum but if you can get your hands on Junkyard Brewing Coachgun IPA you will not be disappointed.

Perhaps the best IPA I have had from a MN brewery. I've had it a few times now but just tonight again for the first time in over a year.....they really got it dialed in....Really a lot of juicy tropical fruits...malt is in perfect balance with light caramel notes...the carbonation is spot on...Granted it fits perfectly into what I particularly like in an IPA but still....I love the way they got good hop flavor out of this and not a biting bitterness. Trying to think what IPA I might like better....Todd the Axeman maybe...This actually reminds me of a slightly less boozy Axeman (which borders into DIPA territoy)....Steel Toe Size 7 would be in the mix but I prefer this...this is better than Liftbridge Hop Dish..Much better than Masala Mama and Fitger's El Nino and I as many know those are two breweries close to my heart...

Might want to find a way to get this in your hands...Top Notch!

Good info, definitely want to try now and appreciate your comment on "dialed in". A lot of IPA'S just don't stand out, and it's fun to find those that do. I'm a Hop Dish and Size 7 fan too, and my 'under the radar standout' is Traitor IPA from Badger Hill.

Junkyard is absolutely insane with what they are doing. Nicest brewers I've met, too. I am heading into that area today! I will bring back some crowlers if they have some. I am happy to share. BM me. Their crowler supply is usually very limited by the weekend, so no promises.

This! My favorite IPA in Minnesota not named Todd the Axeman.

Traitor IPA is quite good indeed. Badger Hill in general is impressive in my opinion. Great stout too.

I don't consider it the best IPA in Minnesota (that goes to Abrasive), but Day Block's Leonard Day IPA is really good and certainly under the radar.

I went to junkyard this summer and they had an azacca SMASH IPA and two excellent sours that were outstanding... really decent brewery and wasn't expecting much. Their stouts need some work though, I wasn't super impressed with those

I hung out at the Junkyard tent at ABR for a while and had a great time between their beer and the people themselves. Really cool brewery with good folks running it.

And if I had to vote for an underrated IPA, I'd go with Mankato Haymaker when it's fresh. Great stuff

It's Far to go for Moore head.

Is there any distribution of Junkyard beers in the Twin Cities, or are they just local to the Red River Valley area?

Actually it is pretty much just at their taproom with a few kegs making to local bars but not many.
This week they just started selling a limited number of crowlers at a couple liquor stores in Moorhead.

I always try and grab a growler or two of this when it's available and I am in the area. Love it so much!

Not sure how under the radar it is, but Fair State IPA just might be my new favorite local. I like the IPAs from Sisyphus as well.

Junkyard is killing it. I want to drink gallons of their hibiscus sour.

A couple other outstate IPA's I have found very good are Castle Danger's and Bemidji Brewings.....Bemidji's Summer IPA is outstanding and their regular IPA is not far behind.
