"Relocation of longstanding Atlanta Brewing Company was expected to signal Underground's comeback in most visible way yet."

“'We’re really sad to announce that unfortunately, Underground Atlanta had to recently terminate the lease due to construction not commencing since our announcement and the [brewery’s] inability to fulfill other lease obligations,' Mary Turner, Lalani Ventures senior vice president and head of leasing, wrote in an email to Urbanize Atlanta."

Atlanta Brewing Company is Georgia's oldest brewery (founded by former Guinness executive Greg Kelly in 1993). Like many long-time craft beer brands, it has struggled to remain competitive and relevant in the ever-changing craft beer market. In 2022, the company announced it was closing its Underwood Hills location in anticipation of moving to a new location in downtown Atlanta's Underground Atlanta. With this latest development, one wonders if its fate has already been sealed.
